Thats pretty cool.
Hey, does anyone know if the songs are any different? Like are they just the songs that you could download normally and piece together into a playlist, or are there changes... maybe like sound clips from the movie spliced in? The Soundtrack for the American Godzilla movie, for example, had a Greenday song with Godzilla's roar spliced into the intro. Also, if you buy it in iTunes does it come with the album art and stuff?

I don't see it. What is it under? I searched "rob's party mix" and didn't get any hits.

It's on the front page click on the music from Cloverfield link or maybe search for Cloverfield mix which is what it is called.

Ugh, I hate iTunes quality, and the copy protection. Hopefully they release it without DRM on Amazon, or better yet, as a physical CD. Sure, it would kind of ruin the exclusivity of the 300 or so existing copies, but they could always change the packaging on the new one or something, to keep the originals unique.

Apple is moving away from using their DRM (Fair Play) on iTunes music. It depends on the distribution company licensing the music though. I don't get where the quality is low, because it's 160 kbps - most people still rip @ 128 kbps, which sounds decent. If you use WMA the compression is a little different, so the sound profile is different - and you tend to have a different perception of the same bitrate.
Cool that they are releasing it for sale as a package though. I do smell a CD distribution in the future.
