I'm getting it. The thing looks good to me. Even my wife is arguing about how it's standing, the hands and it's shoulders compared to the movie. The figure isn't real flesh so it's not going to be exactly the same. Plus it doesn't show the different combinations of articulation, so we still don't know yet.

Good enough for me, and it's limited.

Just seems very awkward and uncool to me. Glad I chose not to pay for it.

I just wish it was more...buff.

EDIT: Ummm, anyone else notice the lack of a big, long, badass, bridge destroying tail?

Almost makes you think there was another creature who smashed the bridge, amirite?

Ahah! I see the difference between the two heads.

His "ears/gills/whatevers" are raised when he gets agitated.

The short tail did surprise me though... mabye it was cut off at the edge of the picture? Confused

anyways, who's up for lookin for all 70 articulation points? Very Happy

on a side note... one of my drawings, aside from making him a little too big in the upper body, the positioning of his head and the "gills", and giving him a bigass tail, was DEAD on.

I actually like the figure more than the monster in the movie itself. I was a little disappointed in the...plainness, no that's not right...I don't know, it was just not strange enough in the movie, but seeing it's entire form like this seems to work better for me.

Uh...what? How do you think it differs?

And to the guy who said something 'bout its tail, it's just that the monster was so damn big. And don't even mention "another creature."

Yea, the big front arms look REALLY wierd in the movie, but seeing the entire thing, they look a lot more natural

The entire front of the monster (waist up) was thicker. The thicker front arms look much better. The face itself looks so cheap in this toy, too. From the waist down this toy is sweet, though.

wow, 100 bucks for this thing..ouch.

Doesnt it come with a special edition DVD of Cloverfield too? If so, your not paying for JUST that.

I actually meant kind of the opposite...the monster in the movie looked too natural, not like something like that could exist, but it wasn't abnormal enough. To me.

Oh, and "yeah" is spelled as such. "Yea" basically means the same thing, but is pronounced "ye." Sorry, but this really pisses me off. Like when people say "all the sudden" instead of "all of a sudden." What the fuck?

And to "blaaaaaah":
The thickness was just because of the proximity to the monster, probably. As for the face looking "cheap," I don't see any problem with it. I think I'd need to see more pics, or see it in person, though.

And, yeah (see the "h"?), 100 bucks is fucking insane. Even a McFarlane Toys version wouldn't cost that much.

I don't think this is a final shot of the toy, the colors aren't right I think it'll look different

Realistic assupmtion.

And Lambo_Diablo_Svtt, you're not serious are you? About the DVD? 'Cause, if so, you are wrong.

The only differences I can seefrom the movie are that i thought he walked on his wrists almost, like a gorilla, and that his shoulders were bigger and made his arms stick out more...

100 bucks for thatis cheap, 70 points of articulation, sound and extras?

I paid 75 bucks for a 13" Jason Voorhees toy with no articulation, no sound, and it only came with a machete and a replacable hand

Special Cloverfield collector's edition packaging

Thats where I got that idea from.

*EDIT* I agree that they might change the color of it somewhat... The gill thingys should be red, and he looked slightly darker than that.

Ok i think the thing looks pretty badass. Almost tempting enough to buy it. I have one question for someone whose seen the movie more than a few times...
In the bombing scene (from the helicopter), doesn't the monster look a lot thicker than this? In every other scene, this toy looks spot on, but i could've sworn he looked more like a fat salamander in the bombing scene....NOTHING like this. Anyone else agree?
