 		They're suckers.

I see it like this...
MGP resides on the ocean floor...most likely feeding off SBN. It uses the suckers to get the SBN off of the ocean floor, and just travels over top of it.
The mouth is most likely for self-defense.
Though I don't see what it'd possibly have to defend itself against.
Or maybe it eats whales too. I dunno.

 		Maybe the parasites have a Mutualistic relationship w/ the Host [MGP].

When a Parasite bites another creature, they react the same way Marlena did, and then the Host [MGP] simply comes by and 'cleans' up the mess by another form of consumption...

I also like the SBN theory too.

 		The People sucking underbelly, was mentioned in a press report as linked by the OP...

The same think comes to my mind too. I don't know if someone else remarked it out, but i remind of Hud saying, after the parasites struggle in the subway, something like "it try (referred to the parasite of course) to drag me somewhere, but why he did it?", or, at least in the italian translation it sounds like this; so, what if they really provide, in some way, of the nutriment of MGP?

Just a little theory eh... Wink

Yeah, but that description ISN'T from Hasbro OR Paramount! That's from a speculation site, and could be completely wrong.

 		new theory?
I don't know if anyone said this yet, but what if the little arms lift people up to a second mouth kinda like an octopus or somthin. That may b what everyone means but im kinda slow.

 		Well you're all going to have to wait. The toy doesn't ship out until the end of September. And I doubt we will get photographs of it before then.

However, we might get pictures of the monster before then, which would be nice.

 		There's nothing wrong with doing something a little different.
Having feeding tubes coming out of its chest would definitely qualify.

I'm hoping they are suckers...so they at least have some function other than just hanging there.
