May I assume then your suggestion is that this is a signal from the same camera on the Enterprise in the "future"?

This is actually my first thought, as well. If there is this future element, perhaps the crew from the future is trying to tell the crew from the past something important by sending a signal back in time?

And wouldn't that mean that although it looks like there isn't much to it, there might be more than we think?

Well, its one possible explanation.. but the fact is that for some reason, one camera is not always on and when it does flicker on for a sec, it behaves differently than the others......great start!

I, on the other hand, had no thought about it being "from the future." I figured it was just some half-finished corridor inside the ship with a flaky camera that occasionally bleeds over onto other channels. Perhaps it worked well before, but now that the hull appears to be on the ship, the signal is attenuated enough by its shielding that the signal is hard to pick up.

No real ARG as of yet... just the one website. We're just chatting to pass the time untill something happens. Hopefully it won't be like Cloverfield with the 3 pics on 1-18-08.com, then nothing for 3 months.

It IS almost a year untill the movie, it may be a loooong time before things start popping.

Plenty of time for us ST Nerds to educate the non-ST nerds

I've suspected that this site is just a red herring to keep us from stalking gossip sites for pictures and spoilery information...

I do like the suggestion that the "offline" camera projects a signal from the future. I'm sure we'll get more from the site as time goes by; after all, it's only been up for a week or so.

Well has anyone thought that maybe we are watching a Romulan Intelligence vids?

Kinda makes sense with the Green bars . . . and the fact that it's security vids and stuff . . .

Doesn't this movie have Romulans in it?

The Rommies are the bad guys in that movie.

They are always the bad guys (now that we've aligned/truced with the Klingons in TNG timeline). But, in TOS, during these Academy years or before the first mission of the Enterprise NCC 1701, the Federation supposedly had never "seen" Romulans, and the Vulcans were still keeping their "dirty little secret" from the rest of the Federation.
[note: OMG, my Trekker is showing!]

Oohh, this might be an interesting conundrum - in the next movie's timeline, we're dealing with pre-TOS Klingons - enemies with the Federation and still without forehead ridges (which was explained at the end of Enterprise; why they have more human characteristics in TOS but not in the subsequent movies and TNG). So, will we see any of those Klingons???
[note: OMG, I'm really sounding geeky now!]

personally, I love Warf's explanation in the movie when asked why he looked so different (in talking with Kirk, I believe) - "We do not like to talk about it"
Laughing

edit: or was it DS9 with O'Brian? can't remember...

[trout?] [ot?] ncc-1701 map fun

so if you go to google maps and type in nc-1701 you get as a second entry something called gag11 which simply lists GPS coordinates +45° 19' 17.82", -75° 51' 13.26".

Putting the coords into GEarth puts you down in a field outside Ottawa, Ontario.

Anybody seen this before?

Click on the above link, then scroll down to the bottom of the page and there's a period linked, which takes you to http://www.stevehanes.com.

Possibly connected? You had to click on a dot from the original star trek page, so maybe...? Can somebody else look into this for me?
