Yeah that's what I was thinking.

If the traditional Trek timeline is altered to be more militaristic as been hinted at...

Hi everybody!
As a complete newby (to ARGs, not to Trekdom Wink), might I suggest that we align these green images below the camera feeds at their "100%" position?
Maybe 1-2-3-4 or 1-2 / 3-4 or any other order?
As my machine here is only equipped with Standard MS Paint, maybe somebody better equipped can try that?

Just hoping that it did already start ...

Woohoo! I've found an ARG to be excited about!

If, of course, it does turn out to be an ARG. Smile

This is the best picture I could get of the image on the briefcase:

It looks a little like a C with a line through it, I think. An I superimposed on a C, perhaps?

I've been trawling through Star Trek related insignia... so far, this is the closest I've found:

It's not a great match, but maybe it's a start?

I'll keep thinking. Very Happy

It's something Smile But now the films been delayed I bet we're not going to get anything concrete for a good while. I'll keep checking this forum regularly though!

Edit: Actually when you right click and zoom in to camera one on the site, it looks like that logo is simply the starfleet emblem or paramount logo...

Hmm...this looks promising. Hopefully we'll get a full-blown ARG out of it!

I've just come down from my extended stay at the Cloverfield section, so I'm in desperate need of a new ARG to keep me entertained on the interwebs.

First off, let me say this: I am by no means a "Trekkie" or a "Trekker". My only knowledge of Star Trek comes from watching the full series of TNG and Voyager, and about half of TOS. Yeah, I know, only half, sue me (DS9 was boring. Sorry, it was. "Hey, let's make a whole series based in an intergalactic bus stop!"), and 5 of the ST movies.

Now, if there was a Star Wars ARG, I'd be all over that sumbitch. Especially if it involved the Extended Universe (That's right, Rebel scum, Grand Admiral Thrawn is coming! Cower! Cower in absolute terror!). In fact, I'm shocked that I'm even crossing into enemy territory, as a dedicated "Warsie". If you've ever visited StarDestroyer.net, you can rest assured that I've read and nearly memorized everything on that site, including the harsh jabs at Star Trek.

But I saw the teaser trailer for Star Trek during my 1st viewing of Cloverfield, and I was impressed. Definitely worth my time...and hopefully, so is the ARG. If it exists.

I'm willing to work with the enemy for the sake of some ARGy goodness Very Happy

yeah, I'm naturally a SW fan as well but the teaser for the new ST movie I found intriguing. as for a star wars ARG, I doubt we'll see one anytime soon. although with the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed game, the Clone Wars CG-animated series, and the live-action TV series, there's a slight possibility we might see one.

Side note about Star Wars:
I'm still damaged that Lucasarts never made a New Jedi Order based video game, like the guys at Penny Arcade suggested a few years ago Sad

Anyways...
well, looks like due to the delay it's time to play the waiting game...

The waiting game sucks, lets play Hungry Hungry Hippos!

I've been researching, here is a REFERENCED part of a wikipedia article.

The "1701" was an homage to the house across the street from where Mr. Roddenberry grew up

Does any one know where this address is? according to my research, Roddenberry was born in El Paso Texas, but "Grew up" in Los Angeles.
Not to mention i have no idea what the street name might be, but ye Godly trekies/trekers, might. Please don't exile me for being a Star Wars kind of guy...

any way. more research

Hey...this might be something interesting. I didn't get any pictures but driving along Route 9 in MA (I think) I saw an U.S.S. Enterprise car. It was white, and had red stripes along the side with "U.S.S. Enterprise" written on it...and I believe there was an 877 number written along the side in black, though I didn't have a chance to write it down. License plate was something along the lines of "Enterprise A" from NY, which makes me believe there are more out there...

Maybe its a new form of trailhead? (or the ultimate fan-van, I suppose, though it was too small to be considered a van). Has anybody else heard of these? I did some googling but didn't find anything interesting.

?

The Ford Aerostar van is very similar the shuttlecraft from the 1701-A and 1701-D.

I hope that this is no coincidence, it has that... New Abrahms smell... fishy. It certainly has that ... flair, that i would personally expect from him. It's great if it's what we think it is.. if it's not... then damn he's better than we thought. However, it is possible that these fans are for "shuttleing" people from airports to hotels...etc. However, if that is their purpose they most certainly have ironic numbers i'm going to give the enterprise rent-a-car website a good looking over see if we can't get a goooooood look at these.

Are you Sure thats an aerostar? I can't find a listing for that under the Enterprise used car listing... but maybe it's just not for sale.. but i THINK i can see a crystler symbol on the back.. or do i need my glasses checked?

Kinda...? It was newer, much newer. Definitely wasn't a clunky old van Very Happy The paint job is really similar though. It was a smaller car - damn, I wish I was better with model names. Just think of your typical four-seater? Rolling Eyes

Three possibilities:

a) It's a new lead-in attached to the ARG (I'm thinking...not likely)
b) It's used to shuttle nerds to and from the airport (for a nominal fee)
c) It BELONGS to some super-fan/super-nerd who isn't afraid of driving a minivan that is painted to look like a Fed shuttle.

Most likely C, I think. But hey, more power to him. I'm a huge freakin' nerd, but I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing...

Now, if it was painted to look like, say, a TIE fighter...I'd be all over it.
Maybe.
