Well here's all four together:

there seem to be some common sections, but the slider rows can't seem to line up in full in any order. There may just be some cloned static effects to fill up each background image. I'm thinking right now there's nothing in it.

I don't know who did most of the campaigning for Cloverfield, however I did a whois on the domain and it said that Paramount was behind everything. Does that make this game more viral than ARG?

On a completely different topic, the numbers for the cameras in order are 564, 125, 955, 289. Does anybody think there's some sort of code in there? (they don't seem completely random).

Well, seing as how I'm a Trekker (yes, a TrekkER not a TrekkIE, there is a difference) from way back I'm going to have to hang out on this one. By way back, I mean I used to watch the original series on television when it was new.

Well, I think most people here know about the basics of the movie. The timetravel plot is confirmed.

At the moment there are imo just two possible leads from the NCC-1701 site.

1. The patterns with the slider. I played with them in Photoshop, but didn't get anything special.

If someone else would like to try, here they are:

2. The numers for getting 100% signal strength.
CAM 1: 564, CAM 2: 125, CAM 3: 955, CAM 4: 289

But if they mean something, I have no idea what.

EDIT: Someone was faster^

I don't know much about this but want to get away from Cloverfield :/.

As in, don't know much about Star Trek. Will that hinder my experience? I'm ready to join the bandwagon if not.

Howdy, Magic! I too, have grown weary of the Cloverfield forum. Lack of moderation is turning it into IMDB.

Don't worry if you don't know much about Star Trek, I'm ashamed to say, I can help you out with about anything you want to know about it.

lol At the first bit - it really is.

Anyway, do you think you could post it here, or in a PM? Just a backstory on what the show was all about. I know it had something to do with traveling through space and a guy who puts his fingers in a V, but that's it.

As for now, I'm sad this site is all we have to go! Has anyone blown up the symbol on the briefcase in camera 01? It might be something, although I'm just throwing random stuff out now, in case it ends up leading us somewhere new.

A good overview of the whole Star Trek franchise is on Wikipedia right here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_trek

Since the movie seems to be based on the original Star Trek TV show from the 60s, this article should narrow the focus down to the proper scope: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_The_Original_Series

Don't forget, some of the plot involves present day (TNG Timeline) Spock going back in time to stop Romulans from screwing with the timeline. So you might need a bit of the Original Crew movies and TNG backstory, too.

Thanks BrianEnigma, I read that whole thing. While I won't be watching the episodes any time soon, I'm glad to know who the characters are.

Magic, Just pick up or rent these movies:

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (Not required, you could skip it)
ST II: The Wrath of Khan
ST III: The Search for Spock
ST IV: The Voyage Home
ST VI: The undiscovered Country
ST Generations
ST First Contact
ST Nemesis (Sucky movie, but wraps up the movies)

Skip 5 and Insurrection. They really don't add anything to the story. You could skip the first one, if you want, but it provides a little backstory to the movie series.

At the VERY LEAST, watch 2, 6, Generations and First Contact.

That won't catch you up on the whole thing by a long-shot, but it will give you a good idea of what's going on.

2, 3, and 4 kind of go together as a trilogy inside the movie series. It's not required to watch all three, but they do go together.

yeah I was about to say... how could you not recommend ST IV? Razz

of course, I think everyone agrees there really isn't a Star Trek 5. It's just kind of a hole in the series, you know. empty space. nothing consequential. Razz

I actually don't like IV. It's too wishy washy. I'm more of the "Let's Nuke 'em" type. Thus 2 and 6 are my favorites of the whole series, followed by First Contact and Generations.
