ooooo, I don't care what it is, I think it'll be fun

was a big fan of TNG, DS9 and Voyager

In fact loving having DS9 playing on Virgin 1 in the UK

Am i right in thinking they've drafted all the captains together but Kirk wasn't included, seem to recall an interview with Shatner not being a happy bunny over it

Lol, yes it has gotten a bit crazy over there! They've taken over the site! Confused

I can't be the only one here who spat his beer reading this. Funny stuff. Very Happy

yeah I was about to say... how could you not recommend ST IV? Razz

of course, I think everyone agrees there really isn't a Star Trek 5. It's just kind of a hole in the series, you know. empty space. nothing consequential. Razz

ST 5 left such a big "hole" in the series that I couldn't remember what the subtitle was to it. It's like a blur, erased from my memory.

But once they do something with the all-purpose deflector dish, everything will be corrected. Your point? Wink

So what IS the difference between a trekkie and a trekker?

I have the vague "General Sci-Fi nerd" knowledge of Star Trek. Plus i saw that episode with the Tribbles. Very Happy

I know enough about Star Trek to know that THIS is the BEST IDEA EVER!

(no, seriously).

Also....KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNN!

There's a joke in there somewhere but if I were to figure it out it would be like throwing glass houses at stones.

Or something.

I think the rule of thumb for Trek movies is that "even numbered ones are good"?

And also...

Hi everybody!

Very Happy

Yes, I'm alive.

Still alive...

I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS!

I'll not be as active here as I was for H3ist, but I'll try to be helpful.

I've been looking for something else. I have been a fan of the movies and shows. I even liked the show Enterprise which sadly didn't last very long. I will not be able to translate any Klingon messages.

A viral campaign where there is already a huge wealth of knowledge available on the subject would be interesting.

I saw on Digg that somebody posted that the four camera numbers add up to 1933. Given the fact that this movie is based off of some time travel aspect (I don't really know too much about Star Trek, sorry...), could this be a clue?

(or it could just be the PM messing with us...haha...)

If anyone who's not into Star Trek, especially the original series, watch the episode called "City On The Edge Of Forever."

It sums up what Star Trek is all about. Won't give away any details just watch it.

Just to say, i felt a tad deflated when i discovered the plot 'premise' seems to have a 'time-jump' element...
I just feel a lil' uneasy about the young/old spock theme...
Sure its a great homage to the original, and im sure it will play out just fine...Hopefully

Im kinda' looking forward to the new Capt'+crew, and perhaps seeing them wrestle with all the bugs and glitches a brand new starship might have. (call it bonding!)
After all she is the real star of the show...

Lets hope this ARE blossoms...

Here's a good explanation. It's in the form of a joke, but the basic differences are there:

Oh yeah! Best episode ever Very Happy

Another website on the differences between Trekkie and Trekker (btw, I made a mistake-- I am a Trekker, not a trekkie)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trekkie

All I can say about the movie is that they better have some good Spock/Mccoy debates. That was the best part, in my opinion ^_^
I just hope this movie isn't going to be another one that's centered around Spock.
STIV pwns, though. Seriously. How can you NOT appreciate a neck pinch to one of those annoying msuic-blasting people on the bus?

And that article on the mirror borg is definitely a great idea. That guy should be an effing screenwriter. He's brilliant Very Happy

Regarding the 1933 theory,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
isn't that around where Kirk and co. travel to in City on the Edge of forever?
Don't know if that means anything...
