www.massive-dynamic.org - Fringe ARG launchs in Germany

Hey people,

over there, at Patmo forum our friend Psycho_logic was contacted by a weird person in a German social network Lokalisten.de.

The person had a Username Allizee_Zeva, she claims to come from Romania.

In her profil she links to the following website:

http://www.massive-dynamic.org/ (tada!)

And also there is following message in her profile:

Phone number 0800. 888 98 98
and
Quote:
"HELP ME! HELP ME! HELP ME! HELP ME! HELP ME! zevaSPLATmassive-dynamic.org"

The countdown at the website seems to correspond the launch of Fringe in German TV-Channel Pro7 (I have to prove it, but it definitely starts in March).

And if you watch the video on the website, you'll find some clips from Fringe Pilot.

I will register at lokalisten.de to contact this person.

P.S. Lokalisten.de belongs to Pro7, btw. Very good marketing concept Wink

P.P.S. Here are some screenshots.
Allizee Zeva:

And her profile:

Her family status: despaired.

She works as patologist. And lives in Munich.

UPDATE2. I checked whois. The Domain belongs to Pro7, which is the TV channel. So it's really official.

[EDIT] Moved from archive -Gisk

Sorry for double posting, but Mrs Zeva seems to be also in facebook.
So perhaps this ARG won't be just Germany located. Feel free to add her - I did it already Smile

Are we 100% sure of this being official?

http://www.massive-dynamic.org/

vs

http://www.massivedynamic.com/

The email address @massive-dynamic.org should be @massivedynamic.com.

mmmmmh... fan made?

My god, the .Org creeps me out, lol.

The .Com looks more official. It has the "Massive Dynamic" feel.

I'm wondering about the .Org, because there's no easter egg to click on. Or is the site iteself an easter egg?

Has anyone tried emailing one of the contacts yet?

Well, I checked the domain, it is registered by Pro7. And Pro7 is the channel, which will show "Fringe" in March. (Countdown counts days till Fringe starts in Germany).

So I suppose, it's pretty official Smile

I suppose, they just registered this domain for German ARG.

I emailed US Massive Dynamic site about Zeva and waiting for an answer.
I hope also, the German ARG will be really an ARG.

You do realize people can fudge the info in whois, right? My friend Jade made a video about WHOIS.

He mentions in the video that you can fake the WHOIS info. For those who don't know how to use it, here's a great tutorial Razz

Anyway, I look forward to hearing more about Zeva. And her tears of blood....

I would agree that it is semi-official, in the sense of having corporate backing, but not being run by FOX or the show's producers. The website is hosted on an IP address within a large range (8 full B-blocks) registered to http://www.prosiebensat1produktion.de/ -- it doesn't look like a television station to me, but it is a real media company (as opposed to being a free or cheap web hosting service), and appears to be the production house affiliated with the broadcast channel http://www.prosieben.de/ which indeed will be airing Fringe. This also tends to confirm that the domain registration is not faked. This isn't a fan site, unless it is a random employee at the station.

http://www.prosieben.de/service/newsflash/artikel/60086/ -- it would have been ideal if this promotional news would link to its viral site, if that is what this is meant to be. I just wonder whether JJ Abrams needs to be aware of it.

Yes, Pro7 and Sat1 are two existing TV German channels, they are merging right now, as far as I know.

Anyway, today we registered more and more appearances of Allizee in various German social network sites. This is really new phenomen in Germany, since there weren't really many viral actions in social networks.

Truly, here are some cool ARGs, but they are acting usually in our nice community of Patmo and some blogs.

Normal people (hehe, I say "normal") don't really have experiences with ARG there, so for a grassroot or fake it were really too... dunno... too revolutionary.

I recorded btw the phone message.

So this is run by the TV station, not the studio?

What this sounds like to me is that this is run by the German station hosting Fringe, not the official Fox people. That makes sense to me, considering each country needs it's own "thing" to help promote the show.

kind of like the idea The CW had with helping promote its revival of Jericho on their station, with new morse codes in the commercials...
It's doable, but the "canon" of the content I guess is what the question is - is the new content sanctioned officially by the show, or was the station just given permission to do their own promotion?

I would think the station has permission. Call it a local gimmick. In my opinion, if it draws more attention to the original, then why not?

I suppose, it's authorized by FOX. I hope so at least. Seems to be really active now. We found at least 8 Social networks, where Allizee is registered.

What's weird is the countdown clock goes on after the flash splash is done playing. Could that be a count down until the show comes on in Germany? I kept wondering about it. I've reloaded the page a few times, and the countdown remains the same.

Yes, the show in Germany starts on 16th March, so it's countdown till the show starts.
