i'm with the rest of you on the bat-faced theory there..
but am I the only one who thinks there is a slight striking resemblance between mgp and violator from the spawn movie?
That what came to mind when I saw it too.

i dont know, could just be me and this has nothing to do with theories but did anyone else think that the monster almost looked animatronic when hud was running into the subway?
i just thought seeing an animatronic version in person would be awesome

I'm only gonna say this one more time.I'll let the other guys keep tryin to drill it into everyone's skulls lmao. There is only one monster. J.J.,Reeves,the military in the film, the news crew/s in the film, and the characters in the film all refer to MGP singulary. J.J. said "IT'S a baby".Reeves said "IT'S a baby".The military dude says "Whatever IT is,IT'S winning." Hud says "Rob! I saw IT ! IT'S alive.Y'all, there is only one monster...for now

Yep yep, my girl thought the same thing at first cause she said the monster looked different every time she saw it. I attribute this to the fact that your getting very very quick glimpses of it and every time its from a different angle. And on the fact that the monster seems to be everywhere at once, Its freaking huge. running around manhatten island for it would be like running around my neighborhood for me,and its only five streets by three streets. not big. my point being, it would only take a minute or two for it to cover the island. as we saw, the thing aint exactly slow. it seemed like it can haul ass

I hear what you're saying and I agree. BUT...that 'open mouth' pic doesn't look even slightly like the picture of the monster that bit Hud. Not even a little. They don't even look like the same species.

Here's a screen shot of the monsters mouth as it comes down on Hud. I added contrast to help define the teeth better. I also have a few blurry shots of Hud inside the mouth and what I think to be blood spray/splatter and possible bite injuries. It's hard to tell but I think there are many smaller teeth within the mouth much like shark teeth.

Yeah that's probably the closest.
Is this where the monster was meant to look scared? It didn't really look scared to me, scary, but not scared.

I read the title and I thought, when was the monster not mad. It's not like it would step on someone and then stop and be like OMG, I am soo sorry, are you okay?
I think the monster was female and PMSing, hence the all out attack.

Hasbro stated that the action figure they're making, will have 2 interchangable heads: one normal and one angry. So it pretty much confirms that the monster's face looks different in those particular shots...

I personally thought his head looked like a snapping turtle's in that particular scene. From there on, I thought his jaw structure was like an anglerfish. Probably not too much, cuz we barely can even tell what we're looking at because of the camera, but it's more or less reptillian.
