Well Matt Reeves put that "chatter" in the end credits, just in case they get a green light for a sequel, and I am sure they will have one. also Bloody- disgusting is a reputable site

Too many questions were left unanswered, there will definitely be a sequel, not till another year, but its pretty obvious. Anytime that a movie does big opening weekend, they prepare for a sequel... thats just how it goes

well, it better be DAMN good with fresher ideas..i hope they don't tarnish the love we have for Cloverfield. I wanna have faith but its hard with sequels. especially since i love the mystery and shock value of Cloverfield. Confused

That was a great article, thanks for posting it. I completely agree with what he said in the article. This is exactly what I was getting at in a different thread. Abrams and Reeves obviously think outside the box, Cloverfield and Lost are huge examples of that. Do the people who don't want a sequel actually think they would just stop all that and do something traditional? Are these people blinded by their hatred and disappointment in other films sequels? I think they are and if a sequel is made then I believe they will be rather surprised. I may be wrong but I think it is highly possible that the sequel has already been made (or at least parts of it). I pointed out in another thread that the Matrix sequels were done in a similar way. If I remember correctly I think they filmed them at the same time and released them during the same year so it is plausible.

Yeah the 2nd and 3rd matrix were both filmed at the same time. It was originally meant to be one movie, but it ended up being too long so they broke it into two. The Lord of the Rings was also filmed all at once I believe.

Though in my personal opinion the Matrix shouldn't have had sequels.

I believe they had the majority,if not the entire script already penned for the next film by the time Cloverfield opened.Whether it will be a prequel/sequel is the question to ask.

It will more than likely be a Sequel filled with Prequel.

If you think about it, the film offered little information for us Cloverheads. I am thinking about the big parts. Such as origin of Clover, TAG and TIDO involvement, our Military, our GOV, conspiracy etc.

I am not real jazzed about a dif POV sequel. The monster scared the crap out of us already. To see it rampaging again would be a bit of a yawner.

That couldn't have been said better... a sequal filled with prequals with choke explenation of all the back history that us "cloverheads" already know... yet better explained for those to catch up.. i.e. the clover"vigins"
