Its just a movie with a clevermarketing scheme, there is no "game" nor objective to all these alledged "clues" all the myspaces TIDOwave Tagrauto, etc. were created by paramount as an inexpensive way to generate hype for the demographic that would mostlikely go to see the movie. Its insane not in suspend reality in a sciencefiction monstermovie, it just wouldnt be as exciting or interesting to watch. There was no dream sequence nor multiple mosters, nor sea bed nectar in the main characters bellies, what you saw in the movie is what you get, approximately 80 minutes of a monster rampaging in New York and possibly a few hints of their being a sequal. sorry if it wasnt enough for you.

Well said. It's supposed to make you think. They want you to wonder.

OK let me get this straight. They had to reconstruct the video from an SD card that underwent a nuclear bomb's EMP blast, yet every frame of video was perfectly preserved, just got mixed with another file slightly? Great theory, man.

PS, wasn't a nuke.

forgot the n-apostrophe-t. A nuke wouldn't of left a camera to find. If you want to discuss this matter further, take it up in the thread already arguing this point.

Long-time lurker, first time poster.

My take on the whole SD Card thing is a bit different than others I've seen posted elsewhere.

Military says SD Card.
Rob says Tape.
Recorded Over Bits also suggest tape.

Logical Explanations:
1. Military is correct. Rob is incorrect.
2. Military is incorrect. Rob is correct.
3. Military and Rob are both correct.
4. Both the Military and Rob are incorrect.
5. Movie has an error in it.

When it comes to truth, I tend to side with he who provides the most details. In this case, the military is correct in that they found an SD Card. This is very specific information to provide. By accepting that the Military is correct in what they found, this means Option 2 and Option 4 are no longer a valid, logical explanation.

Is Rob incorrect that the camera is using a tape? He could be using a term he is familiar with so it is possible. However, he could be saying that the camera does, indeed, use a tape. The bleed overs in footage strongly suggests it is, in fact, a tape of some kind. As the camera behaves like it is using a tape and Rob states that it is a tape, this indicates to me that Rob is correct, the camera is recording on a tape. This now eliminates Option 1 as a valid, logical explanation.

So at this point in time, either both Rob and the Military are correct, which on the surface seems to contradict each other, or the movie has a inconsistency to it. We must first look for any circumstances that could exist to give both Rob and the Military a correct statement.

We know that at the end of the movie, Rob and Beth are in Central Park with the camera. This is also where the military finds the camera. However, beyond this, anything else we know is speculation. The start of the movie and the end certainly gives a strong implication that the military found the camera and this was how the video was able to be released. However, this is not necessarily what happened.

It is possible that the camera was recovered and that the tape was transfered from tape to SD Card.

Unfortunately, the answer to this question cannot be fully discovered by us. It can only be answered by someone who worked on the film to confirm, the opening statement was an error (or vice versa).

Excellent logical analysis... Now can we get back to using our minds towards something that actually matters (at least relatively)?

My canon xm2 (gl2 in the US I think) has a LP mode, which is rarely used... But I guess a lot non pro users might use it, since you get a 91 minute recording time out of your 60 minute tape... Anyone mentioned this before? If so, sorry for the trout.

Here's something else to chew on. I could put this in one of the many "Did so-and-so survive" threads, but this seems as good a place as any.

How did the military find a small, hand-held camera under a collapsed bridge in the middle of a scorched wasteland?

Cadaver dogs.

or the writers needed a way to incorporate the handheld video camera style to the movie. (edited for spelling)

OMG I've figured it out!!!!!!111!!!!!!11!one!:

It doesn't matter.

Better yet, it does matter: they didn't think about it. Oh, boohoo, let's argue about it. Seriously, there's much better things to be discussing, like the new Star Trek game.

Why would cadaver dogs be searching under a bridge in Central Park?

How about they survived, were picked up by the military, and the military confiscated the tape as some sort of evidence? It says it was "recovered" from the site; "recovery" could mean any number of things.
