Just watched the movie again. Hud puts down the camera so that he and Beth can help Rob (their back is then turned towards the incoming MGP, and they block Rob's view as well, but you can see him coming in little flashes as the three move around). They don't see MGP coming, and then it seems like he is right there, but they don't notice at first because he is bigger than $&#@ right on top of them (fail). Hud then runs back for the camera (epic fail).

Also, I think that MGP looks at him like that because he is suprised to notice a little human. Just like he was so big that they hardly saw that he was right on top of them, they are so small that they hardly registered to his senses. Maybe he was happy to just get a chance to study one of those little buggers without it running and screaming.

P.S. You can totally see Hud's intestines for a second. It looks almost like the camera gets pushed up into them, and then sucked (bad noise) away.

It kinda bothered me going back to Huds' MySpace and realizing he will never update it or add to the comic book story.

Is there a vid of Hud getting bit, seen it 3 times and still can't makeout much during that scene.

Did Hud always list 2'6" as his height on MySpace?

Here is my final take on Hud and the Monster:

People assume things. They see giant monster they'll of course assume it wants to eat them. Just like how if a dog bites a child most people automatically assume the dog's at fault instead of asking "Did the child provoke the dog?" Now bear with me here....I'm not stating that Hud provoked the monster by just standing there gawking with a camera. JJ Abrams stated that the monster is infact a "baby". I pose this question...What do babies like to do with their time? Explore....play with objects....test objects with THEIR MOUTHS! What if Hud fell victim to a big annoyed curious baby? Hud could've been a toy, that eventually "broke"...so then the baby moves onto something more interesting???? I like it.

I guess that could explain why MGP doesn't go after Rob or Beth when they come back for the camera. Interesting...

When Rob finds Marlena after he comes out of the convience store she is covered in dust and in a state of shock. What does she say? I heard something thing like."it was eating everyone".

Maybe he's an android, or artificial person, like Bishop from "Aliens" (yes, I love that movie). He powered down, but later on, his backup systems come back up (like the Terminator), and he drags what's left of him over to the rubble where Beth & Rob were to dig out the camera, so he can finish documenting.

Okay, far-fetched, but a giant monster (and a bunch of little stowaways) attacked NYC! Guess I'm just in denial about Hud.

I was thinking about the baby point that was made by Fignut. That could be a possibility, too. Quite a plausible one, too.

And thanks Vern for explaining about being shellshocked. Not having experienced that (thank God), I never realized that could happen. I retract my statement comparing this section of the movie to the last T-Rex scene in "Jurassic Park" (can someone come up with a plausible explanation for THAT one? Doubtful, 'cause the T-Rex wouldn't be able to reach the doorknob with those little baby arms!). I stand corrected and more educated in the matter.

Yes, the fate of HUD was really terrible. I mean, in the background you see the bright sky, the day begins, but HUD isn't anymore.

Poor HUD... What about continuation of our interactive comic story?..

Strange thing was just, how could that big monsta catch HUD so stealth alike. I mean, monster is huge and HUD and others would notice (at least hear) him for long distance. And where did he go after HUD's elimination? I mean, he (monster) killed HUD and was gone? Was he satisfied about his dark deed and said like: "OK, that two humans I'll keep for my lunch"?

They pulled themselves out of the copter crash....stunned, tired, hurt, probably not really thinking about looking up....and all of a sudden they(Rob and Beth after taking a few strides in the other direction) see the monster right there hovering above them...not looking at them yet....and then the "holy shit" factor kicks in...'cept Hud has his "I gotta get this on film" factor kick in...then the monster looks down, and "Oh a new toy" factor kicks in...then bye bye Hud.

I really don't think any of the actors had anything to do with the myspaces. My guess is some production person has a sense of humor and is trying to sound Hud like with the change. It's not like TJ Miller is the only person with a sense of humor out there.

In one Matt Reeves interview awhile back he said he didn't know who was updating the myspaces. He said it could have been the actors, but was probably production.

Then Lizzy said she didn't even know what was on hers because she can't log in to see it. Plus she seemed sort of surprised about what it did say about her character. I can't see her being the only one out of the myspace loop while the rest of the cast plugs away making changes and etc.
