Ya think the Myspace pages are going to keep going all year and lead up to party next year? Doesn't the movie allegedly take place in 2009?

I also don't know, who was the author of MySpace, but it doesn't matter for me - it's just HUD, Rob and others. I see some parallels between MySpace and movie: HUDs interest for Superman, Marlene's shy kind, difficult relation between HUD and Jason etc. etc. - it was perfect shown in MySpace and movie.

So perhaps we know about the characters better then the actors

Personally, Hud's death was, for me, the cheapest, most illogical part of the whole film. Not so much because he dies, but because it lacked SO much in logistics. Alot of what people have brought up that I don't understand: No planes attacking. He SNEAKS up on them. It looks SO much smaller than before (and don't give me that prospective crap, Matt Reeves). And it NOTICES HUD. A single person, it not only notices him, but is able, with what is supposed to be a GIGANTIC set of teeth, to actually meticulously chew him up to a degree that his upper body (which we see later) is still intact and, seemingly, unscratched.

Instead, I would have had Hud die in the helicopter crash. It would have been FAR more realistic (and I know, it's ridiculous to ask a MONSTER MOVIE to be realistic), and it actually would have had a less distracting, more effective tragic character death.

Someone compared the monster to a puppy earlier, way earlier, could it be possible that it was trying to play with HUD and things got too rough like a puppy with one of it's chew toys?

MGP is generally pissed off.

At some point, near the end of the movie, to make the monster seem more personal, as far as one-on-one interaction, as a film maker, it HAS to eventually interact with one or more of the heroes.

Eat the guy with the camera.

I had a chance to watch this scene in slo-mo...*coughs*

anywho....Hud get's bitten in 2...his legs fall out and hit the ground, the camera is let go by a presumably dead hud from inside the monsters mouth and quickly thereafter the monster spits out the upper torso of Hud. On the way down, in the camera spirals in the air pointed down a bit, so you can see his LOWER torso already on the ground before it and his upper torso hit the ground. Very creep scene in slo-mo.
