I know Hud is still alive because I saw him on a new episode of Carpoolers.

What more evidence do you need?

Everyone in the theatre that I saw, including my wife...were completely dumbfounded when Hud got chomped. It went dead silent in the place. It's like they completely were taken off guard and saw an actual shooting on the street. I was laughing on the inside at them. Laughing visibly to my shocked wifey.

I also thought it was disturbing, and the little scene with the camera trying to auto-focus between his face and the grass was powerful.

Actually, I think that's the only reason Hud didn't get eaten completely, they wanted to have that scene.

I can understand it from the perspective of a writer. Sometimes I'll have an idea for a scene or a situation that is so cool that I get the impulse to try and shoehorn things in that seem kind of shaky just to make it work (it usually doesn't).
