OMG, you people cannot be serious! You do not know what the Blue Oven Mitt is? See, this is why some people are upset about some of you new members. You have no clue about any of the things we have discussed or discovered in the past. Most of us have been going at this since July of last year and have hundreds of threads about almost EVERY aspect of Cloverfield here on UF. Please for the love of God go back and do some reading. It is easy, just use the search button. A lot of people have done the legwork for you so see if you can build upon it. Some fresh eyes may actually catch something we missed.

darasbakaz, thank you for at least knowing what the blue oven mitt is and thank you for trying to be productive with your ideas. The only way I see them related is that JJ Abrams produced the two. I know you are a fan of LOST or you would have never caught it so you know he loves to do things like that. But I do not think the two are connected.

There is no 'us and them' or 'old and new'. There is a wealth of information contained in older threads, that is true. Some have followed for longer. Also true. If you're calling Trout, then please do so properly, with a link to the relevant thread - it's a simple courtesy, it helps to encourage people to search before they post, and it stops threads descending into flaming which has happened too often in the last couple of days.

This is as valid as any other spec - please keep a leash on tempers.

Sorry if I came off as "flaming" the guy.

I'm just saying that when you step back and look at all the connections being made some are a little far fetched. It would be like saying someone writes with a blue pen in each movie and Lost episode so there might be a connection.

I dunno, I thought some of them were an allusion to the different project names they went through. Cheese, one of the flavors is called "Chocolate Rage" (Chocolate Outrage was another production name).

I dunno. I noticed the recurrence of the items as well, but was a conclusion ever come to as to if they might have any other significance? I mean, there's a chimp at the end of the Slusho! commercial holding a flag with cheese on it, and it's on screen for a second or so. (Satellite that fell is part of the ChimpanzIII)

DM30 You've got it all wrong, I am new to this site too, but I did research the threads first to see if anyone had brought this point up before. I haven't found anyone who has. I'm not hating on you only suggesting that if you look at a post and you don't know what it means, do what I did and research it a little.

BACK TO MY TOPIC: Think about this. If you're JJ and you want to tie the two together, would you not go back to the first two minutes of the last season and do that. Especially with the DVD's having come out not terribly long ago.

Just one more thought, though I am still unsure of it myself. Gonna go watch the film again tonight.

I am sorry Mikeyj, my intention was not to come off as rude. I think some are a little over sensitive (D3MO Crying or Very sad ). I was only trying to explain why people are getting frustrated. Like I said before, I think some fresh eyes may actually catch something we missed and I am glad to have them here.

I did not want to trout darasbakaz as I understood what he was getting at and gave him props. Wink

/lurk=FALSE Sorry My first post was in support of darasbakaz I didn't not mean it as a negative. I just thought it was a coinincident that there was a blue mitt on lost. However I have been wrong before as anyone who read my Slusho ="The Stuff" remake post will recall. Embarassed ... Uhm yeah like I said we all make mistakes just some bigger then others in my case...Well carry on /lurk=TRUE

Wow. Not knowing about the blue oven mitt.

Welcome to Cloverfield. I suppose everyone joined after viewing the movie, and after lurking forever.

Use the despoiler and search to avoid flaming.

Didn't the one creature they were carting off in the triage area have a blue mitten on it's head?

That will always be a classic.

Maybe we should rename a "Troll" a Slushomakesuhappy or just Slusho for short?

I believe it could tie into LOST but not completely, just certain events like my theory about the magnet field thing on Station 3: The Swan.
