It my honest opinion, it clearly shows that you have to move on with your life. There are more meaningful things in life than always hooked on updates about Cloverfield. Wont you find interesting hooking up with women? than getting engage to a film who bombed the second weekend from its release?

1. Get off your high horse, and stop trolling. You're on this forum too.
2. I'd hardly say it "Bombed" in its second week.
3. Why if people come here to discuss an ARG and movie, do they have no life aside from Cloverfield? I somehow manage to discuss the movie, hold down 2 jobs, volunteer as an EMT, go out and knock back the occasional Jack & Coke, and have a very good relationship with my girlfriend of 5 years, to whom I plan on getting engaged soon. It sounds as though you need to better manage your time from your assumption that if you post on an internet forum, you have no other life.
4. If you're going to insult someone, please use proper spelling, punctuation, and overall good grammar.

I think we will get the chance to stop it from happening. Why else give us 4 months before the movie's preset becomes our present?

May 23 2009, so next year.

IG the attack has happened, the Slusho 7 were headed to the party at their last updates. Ignore the RW dates (not like myspace would recode thier site to forward date the chartacters entries, thats why they never mentioned specific dates in their posts). IG we're past May 23rd.

If theres a continuation it will be after the attack, so watch Lily's myspace.. maybe Jaime's.

Good advice - wonder if the military will allow Lily access to the outside world after what she's seen, though. Where did they take her, is my question - but that's for another thread....

And was Jamie sober enough to survive that attack, or was she part of the buffet on the street that Marlena witnessed?

Personally, I'm waiting for the next installment of the Manga....but I will watch the MySpace pages of at least Lily, too. Also, Tag and subsidiaries.

But why did they HAVE to date the movie in May? The MySpace pages were well and truly up and running in the early production phase of the movie, it's not like they made the movie, randomly set in in May and then thought "Oh crap, it's too late to change the dates in the movie and now these MySpace profiles will be screwed". Another thing, the trailer was made in pre-production with the release date of 1-18-08, it's not like they thought "Well, just in case we underestimated wrap-up time and it gets released in May next year, we'll make the movie set in May"

I know it may sound like blabber, but essentially, what I am trying to say is - If the release date was 1-18-08 and ALL of the ARE/ARG material was synchronised and leading up to 1-18-08, to what benefit for Paramount, Reeves or Abrams and more importantly THE AUDIENCE, was having the movie set in May? I think it's part of a plan... everything's part of A plan...

I think the benifit to Paramount was the fact that they filmed in spring, and you'd be freezing your ass off running arround NYC on a January night. They were worried about continuity within the movie (you wouldn't be sweating in nothing but a button-down shirt outside on 1-18-08 ), not from ARG->movie or vice versa.

Hey, everyone in the world has seen the monster at this point, right? It was on the news, people probably YouTube'd it, there have to be countless pictures.

If anything, Lily will become a puppet for the government, explaining how well they protected her and the NYC citizens! Razz

Because NOBODY goes to Coney Island in December (Is it even open?)..
And parkas and snowcoats would have robbed us of half-naked party girls..
And they'd have to dress all the sets while they filmed w/ snow.. that costs money...
And Marlena's snowcoat would have contained her pop, making it look like she was dragged behind the curtain and only farted..

Lots of reasons..

I think that there are a couple possibilities here.

1. The game continues at a much slower pace, because they do want to keep interest up until the toys and DVD are released.
2. They wait to see if the movie generated enough interest to get more people involved, and depending on that they either ramp the game up or shut it down.
3. Nothing has changed, and we are just being impatient (after all, why would they want to shut something down that has the possibility of making good money with little investment? How many of you bought Slusho gear? How many of you will buy anything related to the movie?)
4. It's done. We suck. So poopy.

Edit: the fifth possibility is that the bastards don't do anything until the second movie comes around.

1.) It was never a game.

2.) There will be continuing advertising and marketing support only from here on out, including the Manga online.

3.) I wish it was a game from the get-go, cause I think it's futile now.

4.) Crying or Very sad

balance is key

yea, so i'm more of a observer and just let you guys discuss politics. I personally am just waiting til the game picks up again. which i'm sure it will. Abrams is probably enjoying his millions right now while we sit here staring at our screens reading stupid replies like this one right here.

I was 99% sure that it would continue, but now i'm not so sure. They lost their best chance at hooking everyone in not updating shortly after the movie's release, it's somewhat futile now.
That being said, i'm still looking forward to the mangas.

If this is the end of this "ARG" and they leave us hanging with so many unanswered questions and clues, it will be a long time b4 I participate in another JJ ARG again.

It would appear that many of the clues (mostly w/Slusho) were pointless and a real waste of time.

I guess that's the question...was this really an ARG???

Yes, it's just not finished yet. Right now it just seems like it has been a complete cliff hanger event, but they will finish it. Or at least they better...

Why would JJ have any arg/are to begin with if not finish it? The only things that would've added to the people participating is the knowledge that the thing in the end is a satellite (which we cannnot really be sure of), see the tag logo on the side of the ship, and see jamie on the couch in the beginning. Really JJ? Make an arg/are all for that?
I don't think he's that stupid. I DO think that they failed in not creating updates right away. The buzz about this movie is all but dead, they missed their best chance.

My guess: they need to be certain about the future sequel. The movie is still in the second week, and we can't be sure how well it will fare in Europe. Then there's the DVD...

If a sequel gets well underway, then the game will start again: new updates, clues on the dvd, maybe tieing up some loose ends... Plus, it's always easier to make an ARG work when you direct it to an established fan base. The clues can be more cryptic, and less obvious (I came too late into this, but from what I see, they practically gave away most of it themselves).

If the movie bombs out after all- I dunno. We'll see.
