umm.. I'm a bit lost.. I'm sure someone can help..

Virtuquest is the game we are playing right? I mean virtuquest is the PM's official site and from there we register for the game.. it is not ingame because it actually talks about real life events and has some info on Alternate Reality Gaming.. we play a game and it even has the scores..

Elle Broderick is a fictional character in the ARG we are playing.. related to all the other sites.. according to elle's site, we are part of an experiment..

Now how can Virtuquest and Elle? This was bothering me from the beginning but I sort of let it go.. it's nagging at me again now with the latest news.. what exactly is Virtuquest and how does it fit into the ARG..

i think this is a blurring of the lines between reality and AR, that the PM's are purposely confusing the real world with it's real news and ingame with it's direct links to elle broderick...

Don't read too much into it.. they haven't uploaded or modified their site in any way so you get the standard directory listing.. the domain just finished propogating to all DNS servers today so that's why it didn't point anywhere yesterday..

If you visit virtuquest.com now, you get a pop-up with the following message.
Quote:
"Corporate Edition"

Continues...

More interesting is if you click on the "Jacob Trasky" link, it brings you to this page: http://www.virtuquest.com/lafcadio/index.html

It's probably for the "Corporate Edition" though. Confused

And what is this corporate edition anyway.. I doubt there is a REAL corporation somewhere using this because virtuquest is a front for an ARG.. but it tries to be part of the ARG.. which is just confusing instead of entertaining..

Has it started then?
I'm a bit confused on the "Virtuquest" part....is this the site that is hosting the "game"? Or is it "in-game"?

Why would Jacob Trasky's name become active, and to such an "ARGly inviting" page no less, if it wasn't for the game?

Your attention to detail isn't quite what you thought.
You took a wrong turn and look what it brought,
Now it is time to rethink your last move,
Don't forget to re-read your last clue.
Now if I might, add one last piece of info
Go to page 9 and the route to ElPaso
If this doesn't help, let me make it real clear,
The end is so close, NOT FAR, but near.

Your most humble guide
Lafcadio

Just a blurb on the Lafcadio with the most hits:
Quote:
Lafcadio Hearn is almost as Japanese as haiku. Both are an art form, an institution in Japan. Haiku is indigenous to the nation; Hearn became a Japanese citizen and married a Japanese, taking the name Yakumo Koizumi. His flight from Western materialism brought him to Japan in 1890. His search for beauty and tranquility, for pleasing customs and lasting values, kept him there the rest of his life, a confirmed Japanophile. He became the great interpreter of things Japanese to the West. His keen intellect, poetic imagination and wonderful clear style permitted him to penetrate to the very essence of things Japanese

Does anyone understand the pop-up or to what it refers?(Corporate Edition Continues....)

Where would we find the "Route to ElPaso"?

And what does "Re-read your last clue" mean?

Did I miss something or is everyone in the dark...lol

I'm thinking that virtuquest is a real company hosting the game. And there is really a corporation/ corporations playing an edition that's not open to us. Confused Question

That would make a bit of sense, taking into account their other venture (pun unintended, but I'll take it anyway...) into ARG was the Experience IT!
game. That would most likely also explain the Corporate Leader Board.

no no virtuquest is not real! it just can't be.. the site isn't professional and the elements such as "association with ella broderick" are clearly fictous becase broderick is not real.. but I guess since we are all consufed the PM's achieved what they were looking for..

this is just annoying.. can the PM's please raise the curtain for 5 seconds and explain this because nobody likes to be confused.. I won't even look at the lafcadio page or consider it a puzzle for us until someone can offer a better explanation of what's going on!
