Hawk:
I SO agree that it's just a game, but it's a game with a TON of people playing, all of whom should get a chance to voice opinions, talk with the PMs, and exchange ideas. That requires organization and compromise. If a few people offend the PM's to the point that they close contact, the opportunities the other hundred or so players have to enjoy the game become limited. I'm not saying that we should restrict anyone from having their say, but that self indulgent and destructive conversations that fail to get results should be tempered with diplomacy. The diplomacy can come from either formally nominated spokespeople OR universal common sense and consideration.
ALSO
let's all thicken our skins to criticism. We aren't all going to agree on everything, and we should be able to voice our dissent without having it become a f@#%ing jihad.

I see where you are coming from Mirror, but consider this. Tim's tactics have gotten results as much as diplomacy. And as for closing contact, we have done far worse and contact has never been closed. They need us.

The trouble with having a spokesperson is that there is no way we could ever be coordinated enough to agree on one, and have him/her effectively consider the group's needs. Typically, when we needed a spokesperson, one was nominated, and during the course of the discussion others used AIM to add send that person their thoughts/requests. The group is too big for that now, so I think a spokesperson is a bad idea. Besides, when they want one-on-one discussion, or straight answers from certain people, they have ways to making it happen.

Still, we are a group, and usually people will abide by what the group decides to do, even if how things are done are bitterly disagreed upon.

Roger the nix on the diplomat. I still think we should make a concerted effort to work COLLABORATIVELY and to not put our own fun over the fun of the group. God I sound like a pinko commie bastard, but I really think that the game will be more fun if everyone has room to participate. ARG's are inherently social. If any one player (myself included) is a piggy about the IG conversations, the game may as well be on a disk.

EDIT: and just to reiterate, I'm not saying we need a spokesperson, I'm saying we need people who will ensure that the conversations go peacefully. Kinda like moderator. But I contentedly cede to popular vote! Smile

I'm a piggy about pie.

Here, let's do this. Mirror, you can have the pie of your choosing.

You try to finish that before I finish yours.

=) Deal?

WHAT THE HOLY KRIF HAPPENED? Ic you handled that better than I would have. I would have gotten the game shut down. LOL.

Seriously though, the storyteller is connected to skinlessjazz.com

So that is another website of our we have to figure out at some point.

Either that or that chat was someone totally kriffing with us. IN which case I say we start a search party and bring weapons. LOL.

There is only one problem I have. There is a lot of meta gaming going on. Don't worry about being mean to the PMs. You're being mean to ICON. Not the PMs.

As for the brash and rude, rock on. Don't take any shit from anyone, especially ICON. Dude's an ass.
