 		[spec] I think I finally figured things out
the lead up
I think I've managed to come up with a logical sounding lead up to the movie that uses everything we've seen from the ARG

1. a piece of the ChimpanzIII Japanese satellite falls off, breaks in half, one bit landing near Coney Island, the other landing in the Atlantic near the Chuai station, Ganu, seeing it as a way of advancing his position and being the "helper" he is has the Chuai station send out a team in a minisub to look for the piece near them. they don't find it (it might have burned up or have landed somewhere else that the Bold Futura satellite missed) it doesn't matter. however they DO stumble across an area with a high concentration of SBN.

2. tests are done and its found that in addition to the SBN, there are also significant oil reserves at the site. becuase the Chuai station is fairly new its not too hard to move it to the site.

3. the Chuai station starts drilling, unknowingly, right near Clover's cave, one of the drilling bits runs into him and he wakes up and angrily yanks on the pipe sending violent shaking through the station before it breaks off.

4. Clover breaks out onto the seafloor, the tilting station has sent oil and SBN into the water, if clover wasn't pissed off before he sure is now, he tears at everything he can find eventually pulling the entire station under, ripping the pylons to pieces

5. Clover is attacked by a falling oil rig, when it lands he angrily grabs pieces and flings them high into the air.

6. clover is now alone and confused, the ocean has changed, still suffering from the effects of the SBN he wanders around angrily.

7. the Navy is conducting a live fire drill out in the Atlantic, (the night vision picture) the loud sound concussions lure Clover closer, where he finds the ships, he chases them back towards the coast as they return to their port in Norfolk, but he loses them on the way, however he catches a cluster of freighters and sinks on, starting a panic and as the ship sinks the coast guard orders the other ships to return to their ports when they capture the strange sonar image. one of the ships in this group is the tanker seen in the movie, Clover chases this tanker and finally catches it when it enters NY harbor, and so the movie begins.

 		The only thing i can agree 100% here with is Number 1. Heres why. People are saying something falls in the Ocean at the end scene and then ANOTHER piece of something falls behind Beth's head in the same scene. That is proof of the two pieces you are talking about falling. The Blowing Whistle dude sent out two sonar images... perhaps of two pieces of the satellite. I am seriously supporting your number 1 but the rest is pure speculation.

The whole thing is pure speculation. Damn good speculation at that. Nice theory.

I know it's not a good video (you can't even see the thing that falls in the water), but I'm pretty sure you couldn't definitively say that something falls behind Beth's head.

1) What is 'ARG'
2) What is 'SBN'
3) Wheres the 'blowing whistle dude that sent out 2 sonar images'
4) Is there really another thing that falls behind Beth's head?

Im sure you all are right! These are all awesome theories from what I know! I just wanna figure these things out. I saw the movie for the second time, today. And I am still unclear on somethings. But I didnt even notice something that falls behind Beth's head, although, im sure there is. The one piece that falls into the water is sooo clear though. haha. But yeah, what is the relevance of the pieces of the satellite and the monster, and everything, and how theyre all connected? can someone please answer that? Thats the major thing im unclear on! please and thanks!

Drilling pipe is designed to fail before the station does. If a pipe were yanked down, the would lose the bit and the pipe, not the station. At most, the crew would experience a slight bobbing motion.

 		That's what he was saying, I think. The pipe would obviously leak something, which pissed Darwin off enough to break everything else on it

 		so clover follows the pipe to the rig and wrecks it then, either way if he's breaking pipes he's gonna be dumping SBN and oil into the water and YES Chaui is an oil rig, they might be getting SBN as an added gain but Chaui was built to drill for oil.
