OP: The interview you linked to was taken from elsewhere by that website/author. They left out an important part I think from the quotes.

In the actual interview after Reeves says all that jazz about "once you see it you'll never stop seeing it", here is what is said next:

"CS: It's the thing dropping in the water, right?

Reeves: Ahh, you saw it."

There's not dobut it was the falling object in the water is what he meant. Laughing
