The Mirror said in the old Bones thread that uF is used to having wikis, back ups etc. All of their games have something that catalogs and helps new players. We did that for them and they were still asking questions that were answered had they read. Them not reading and asking dumb questions was not my fault, Connie.

Now, are we going to discuss this, drop it or are you going to continue and try to subtly bait me?

No offense you guys, as much as I love you all, I am sick to the back teeth of this.

It's petty, whiny, moaning adolescent arguments that cause people to run away wondering why they ever bothered to start with.

I'm fed up, in a MAJOR way.

I don't know why people can't just get on with this. IT'S A GAME. Fair enough, Icarus can be a dick, and Leith was a help etc etc etc

I know I've walked away from this before, and now I'm wondering why I ever bothered my arse coming back! Oh wait! I remember, it was the puzzles, and the intrigue, and the mystery of not knowing what was going to happen next!
Now......I wonder what happened to that?? Hmm

The only reason people are bickering among themselves is that no-one is focusing on the tasks at hand. This GAME is not being played. It's being watched by many, commented on by some, and investigated by a few.

Who honestly gives a shit what Icarus has to say???? If people are hurt that easily by an off the cuff comment that they feel they have such a compulsion to defend themselves; if they are that insecure on their own views and opinions, then they shouldn't be here.

I've taken a back seat to all of this over the past few weeks, i've been watching the game, watching you lot.

Get your act together guys, and start acting your age instead of your shoe size. No one's forcing anyone to be here, so if offened, then "goodbye". Go, enjoy your life and have fun elsewhere.

If not........Drop this and get on with it.

I still know who you are, even if you'd like to pretend to be an impartial guest. I'd also like to remind you of the forum Terms of Service, which require that all members post under only one nickname, whether that be registered or guest.

And I request, humbly, that this end on the grounds that this beginning to become an uncivil, unbecoming witch hunt of flaming bitchery, which I would hope all of you are above.

I think I've identified where this thread went off track. If you'd like to continue discussing the ORIGINAL TOPIC, which seems to have been "Can we all get along?" feel free. But that lock is going right back on if the only answer to that question is a resounding "NO" as demonstrated by the above descent from discussion into lynch mob.

Also, I agree that idle hands are the devil's playground. Perhaps there might be a better use of your time and attention than playing another round of "High School Cliques?"

Let me say this one time. The game doesn't mean enough to anyone on either side of the curtain to sit by while once person's freedom to "speak their mind" infringes another person's right to "not take abuse" for being new or asking old questions. I even think the whole trout thing is only funny to people who've been around a while. imo

So while you're all accepting this "just ignore him" attitude, it doesn't hold water. On the street if someone rags on anyone and everyone and always needs the last word they get a shot in the mouth. Internet bullying is EXTRA lame and there won't be ONE NEW THING until it stops here.

Thanks to Spacebass for putting up with as much sh!t as he has. If he decides to slam the gate, I don't think anyone would blame him. An ARG has hardly surfaced in this forum since it opened.

I agree, and thank you to the mods for their continued patience.

I want to reiterate that while I feel fine with trying to ignore any attacks against me, I can't just stand around and look the other way while other people get bullied, whether it's in real life or over the internet. I apologize in advance, but I just can't play the good german, even in something as microscopically unimporatant as an internet game.
I will, however, continue to work on my tact.

And Icarus, you shouldn't be putting people in the position of having to ignore your abuse. I value your opinions AND am absolutely intolerant of your cruel treatment of other people. Having an opinion is great, but unless it is A. Productive for the game and B. phrased in a constructive non-abusive way, you really should have no reason to post it. Your continued emphasis on 'telling the truth' and 'being opinionated' is neat, and I, personally, value truth a great deal. You are, however, no Diogenes, simply because the truths you keep shoving in everyone's faces are only truths to YOU. I don't, for example, think that Leith is a failure, I think he's great. Therefore your posting such a mean thing is not any great revelation of truth, but merely a self indulgent and cruel voicing of a negative opinion. I think you're smart and I am grateful to what you have contributed to this game. I am not interested in participating in a witchhunt or a lynch mob against you. I will, however, ASK you to reevaluate your definitions of the words truth and opinion, and to consider BEFORE YOU POST whether or not your opinion is relevant to the puzzle at hand, or constructive to the group as a whole. I look forward to reading your opinions on the puzzles. I hope that I never again have to read your negative opinion of another player's iq, personality, or contribution to the group.

In the past three days, where have I been this prick you're all stoning me for? Granted I've been brash, but there's no taking that away. Even in the middle of the Leith debacle I was trying to curb it and move on because I realized I went too far.

As it stands none of you are letting me do that. You're preaching about old posts and bringing up attacks from months ago on the 48 forum and in the Bones thread.

If you want to play this game, which I know we all do, then help me in moving on. Quit provoking me, quit attacking me and quit being `` unprofessional `` when I'm being quite nice about everything.

I was editing my earlier post while you posted that last question, Icarus. I think I may have answered the question, but in case I didn't:

I am grateful for your work in the game. I find your treatment of other people (not me, by the way, you've been abrasive but not abusive towards me) to be utterly reprehensible. Your negative comments to people make them have to choose between sucking it up and taking your abuse, or standing up for themselves and being accused of
'provoking' you. This isn't fair, and it certainly isn't productive for the game. I can't believe that you really want all the players to either ignore you or indulge you. I think you're intelligent and dedicated, and I think that it wouldn't take much restraint and kindness on your part for people to start looking at you as a legitimate leader instead of a problematic personality to be tiptoed around or avoided.

People, the easiest thing is to lock this thread, not talk about it, and wait to see what happens. If something major happens again, bans can happen if that's honestly what it takes. This has ceased to be a game, and has become work. I don't want to login just to read 10 pages of bickering.

We all have unique points of view, we all want to be right. Sometimes we are, other times we aren't. We need to give in when we aren't right, and at the moment, no one is.

I understand this is a major problem, and shouldn't just be brushed off, but that might just be what it takes. If more of this happens, ban Icarus. As for now, everyone's combined thoughts are going to be what it takes to crack this thing.
