MySpace.com didn't exist as we know it until 1999. It was originally a part of it's parent company's site. Even that didn't exist until late in 1998.

The fighters would be there to observe. Notice you didn't hear them particularly firing on anything. There's a bombing run about to commence, and forces trying to evacuate the city. That means there's no point in continuing an attack on MGP with fighters.

Is it not enough that JJ Abrams himself said it will not be a Godzilla movie?

Love Godzilla all you want, but this ain't it.

I don't think your stupid. I think you need to back off lunch martinis and perhaps la coca. But stupid you are not.

In the future, do not preface with "YOU GUYS MIGHT THINK I AM STUPID" because there are UF peeps here who will def think you are stupid for putting the stupid comment in your subject.

(in calmest sing song voice) This has nothing to do with Godzilla.

You are far too kind, Patrick.

Re: You guys might think Im stupid... but listen...

Dude, in the real world there is what we call "legality" there is no way in hell that the two monster films are intertwined. Again, there is the real world and the delusional world (which I think you are currently living in)

Ok. When Godzilla came out... (im sorry for all of you godzilla theory haters... i had my doubts for awhile... until now...) BUT! it was 1998. When the Cloverfield monster attacks, it was Saturday May 23rd. And the last May 23rd Saturday was in 1998.

-and-

I swear to God, that like a week before Godzilla came out (and dont even tell me Im psycho, cause this did happen) on the news, there was a preview for the movie. And it showed it, and a building falling down and stuff. But when the preview ended, I remember the news guy saying something along the lines of "It was not Godzilla that knocked down this building, but something else..." That bugged me for years... and now, all this happens. But what if, yknow?

Dont make fun of me or anything! Im just trying to help with this whole situation! Theres just soo many connections between the two movies.

And at the beginning of godzilla, godzilla attacks a ship, was it an oil rig? Or just some plain old ship? someone help me out on this one.

One more thing: The scene where Hud dies, like three planes fly by toward th city, and yet, the monster appears in a completely different direction than the direction in which the planes were flying. so either there was two cloverfield monsters... or they were attacking something else entirely...

Once again. Please dont criticise. Just stating some opinions!

That basically sums up the chain reaction of some who read this post.

This doesn't make sense. Why would they say "It was not Godzilla" in a preview for Godzilla?

Oh, and there are no connections, real or imaginary between Cloverfield and GINO.

I think this person may not correctly remember that advertisment for GODZILLA....

I agree. why would a newscaster say that? it doesn't make sense.

don't be ashamed that you probably can't correctly recall this commercial, that you speak of. I wouldn't be able to recall any ad's in 1998 for shitty movies either.

I think Jeff Goldblum was responsible for A LOT of that crap. I cringe when I think about that '98 flick.

Jeff Goldblum...? He wasn't even in that movie.

Agreed about the cringe.

he was in Jurassic park 3. now that was as bad as the 98 godzilla.

I mean, you have to work hard to screw up something like godzilla, i could have made a better movie. The 98 movie coolness resides in like 7 minutes into the movie.

OOPS. sorry. I meant Matthew Broderick.... which, in my opinion, is MUCH worse.
