The other terrible things!!! (spoilers are included)
maybe explains his massive size as well!!!

I was just wondering, everyone knows that people who are bitten by the small terrible things explode, well maybe the thousands of little terrible things that MGP has on him caused him to swell/grow rather than just explode, cos the bite/infection seems to make people get big faster than they should, MGP obviously has a strong skin so maybe it has just stopped him from exploding like Marlena and just kept him growing and growing. I unno!!!

Marlena's bones didn't expand as well, just her soft tissues. MGP is just that big. I think the "fleas" are more of a nuisence to him, but cause a deady anaphylactic shock reaction in humans.

I don't think the smaller creatures actually bite MGP, I think they just live on him.

They certainly don't have mouth parts like a parasite. No puncturing proboscis like a flea, no "Digging" mandibles like a tick. They look more like scavengers. Perhaps they live off MGP's dead skin, or bits of his food.

Or perhaps, their teeth were simply used to lock on to Clover's back.

Not to mention, whenever we see body shots of MGP, we never see the parasites on him.

It's kind of like fleas on a dog. The dog could be covered with them, but you don't really see them untill you look closer. I don't think we got a close enough shot of MGP to see the things on him. The Hud scene doesn't count, because apparently, the things live on his upper side.

All other shots were too far away (the helicopter bombing scene) or too quick to pick out individual things the size of a cat or dog on an animal the size of a scyscraper.

We're just gonna have to wait for that damn toy... or some sort of official production sketches of it.

Which we probably won't see until after the DVD comes out.

Or unless one is leaked.

I'm surprised that Neville Page didn't post up anything official yet...

I'm sure in a month or so the monster's appearance is going to be common knowledge and no more need to enforce the secrecy.

Also, if the toy is ready for sale, there's no reason to wait for the DVD release.

Actually, the site says they are going to begin shipping the toy on September 30, 2008.

What we saw was NOT anaphylaxis.
Anaphylaxis = tissue swelling (not expaning), raised red skin lesions, obstructed airways, raised heart rate, reduced blood pressure.

Marlena's reaction = DELAYED confusion; conijunctival, nasal and oral bleeiding; sudden expansion and rupture of the abdomen.

Being a medical professional, to me this all points to a reaction from a toxin.
Infections would take 12hours-days to start showing signs, anaphylaxis would lead to a swollen, choking death and would not result in someone exploding.
Oh, and you don't really implant spawn by biting someone, so scrap that idea...
