The Queen...she doesn't understand value. Negotiation is all about making
everyone else think you have the best cards. This is where the Korp gets
it right. Everyone thinks they're powerful...so they are. Funny, really.

I overheard that my presence and control has caused a few passengers to
buckle or jump ship. How weak. A little strife and the building falls,
eh? I've watched the group from afar. There seems to only be a few of
you with the balls for actual life. Tell them to jump in the kiddie pool.
This is where the sharks swim.

From Delilah, after I asked how business was going.

Quote:
Slowly...the Queen is insisting on another player in this. Most
frustrating. Despite her reliance on me for most things, she's putting a
check-and-balance into the negotiations I don't like.

She knows damn well I can handle this.

Anyways...challenges...

How is your trip?

I agree that the Queen was shown great disrespect. It doesn't surprise me
at all really. This sequence of events has stirred to pot.

What I saw was a missed opportunity. The passengers had her there. While
she is notoriously difficult to reason with, they didn't even try. She
even asked for them to state their case for Edwin. Instead, they cursed
her name and threatened her. Not very likely to get anywhere with that.
No sense...

Too bad you couldn't be there. As a fan of chaos, this was the political
equivalent of bedlam.

Delilah

More from Delilah

Quote:
Yeah...that's the way I see it too. She even opened a door. She asked
for pleas for Edwin. Someone could've at least eased her off the poor
little dweeb.

Jonah was always off the table. As I said...too much value.

As for a personal audience, I'll try but your fellows might have blown
that chance.

To which I replied:

Quote:
I'm not sure what I'd say.

I trust that she knows what she is doing. Has she spent much time with
Athena lately? I figure they must chat from time to time, but that's just
my curiousity.

Please tell the Queen that she has my trust, and I can be her confidant if
she needs another one. I am also yours, Delilah.

What do you think the Korporation will do to Jonah? I'm very worried. He
is like an older brother to me. Could you have them promise to not kill
him, perhaps?

Oh also, could you ask her to please be kind to Edwin. I realize no one
else took the time to plea for him, but I feel I must. It was partially my
fault that he doubted her, because I did for a while as well, as you well
know. I was worried she would kill him, and I do not want that at all, at
all. Delilah, please express with the proper emotion how much I'd like for
him to at least remain alive and treated as a human.

That's all. I just worry about my friends.

You, too, Delilah. Don't do anything stupid to get yourself in trouble
with the Queen.

Quote:
The Queen I can handle. I don't know what I can do for Edwin. No one
stuck up for the poor chap when they had the shot. He'll be ok though.
His position might not improve but he's well fed and she's started giving
him back some tools.

As for the Korp and Jonah..I'm sure the Korp sees Jonah as a better chip
for negotiations. Going from a nut-job to a revered member of the Deck
and the liaison and compatriot to the passengers...big trade-up. Good
news for Jonah. If he stays valuable, he'll be fine.

me:
Quote:
Good, thank you for easing my mind.

Okay, Delilah. My friends have said we have info you may like. What we
want to know is:

What will be the value of what we get in return?
Can we really be sure we'll get anything?
Is there any way... you'd be willing to keep this information from the Queen?

Quote:
Fair trade for fair trade. If it's those codes, I'll try to offer the
like. Hard call but you guys can ask away. I can't get you Joanh or
Edwin's release but I do have the Queen's ear.

As for my quiet? This is MY transaction. I keep my own records. Mum's
the word, Love.

He's a fop. I knocked him around today in meetings. If it's any
consolation, I have to "stand guard"...you know...like the lawyers at the

Not yet, Loli. I love you girl, but too much is at stake this early in

Sorry, Love. Jonah has to happen. Morcar matters too much here. You
guys have a shot at Edwin though. He's a genius, right? Maybe he can
help you.

The Queen sees you guys as trespassers...said it herself. She was against
bringing you guys into the process from the beginning. I've heard her
complain about you all quite a lot.

The Aces, and most of the others feel differently, but every group has a
lot of different types. Learn to read the players in the game and it gets
easier to get the process.

I mean that if you know who you're betting against, you can try to beat
them to the prize. Get good at reading eyes. People can't hide much
behind eyes.

In my comment on not knowing who to trust..
Quote:

Sure you do...it's just that those guys are in chains at the moment.
Jonah and Edwin sure care for you guys.

Play smart and you just might see them again.

You're right not to trust me. But I'm not your biggest worry. It's not
you guys I'm after. There's bigger game at this table.

I know your in meetings...Get to me if you can...when you have the time...

Hope business is going well.

I was in another room dealing with Jonah. He tried his best to be an ally
from behind the scenes for you all. Really quite noble. Foolish but
noble.

No matter. As I've said before. He's too precious to us to harm. His
transgressions will be largely ignored.

Quote:
Yeah. I heard about that.

I don't know if your at liberty to answer this question...or if you've done so already..but what makes Jonah so special?

The others are trying to figure out what you want...any suggestions? :p

I'm considering a deal on Edwin right now.

As for Jonah, there's a lot more to him than I think even he knows. We
haven't seen his potential yet, if you ask me. I'm not the only one who's
noticed either. Fortunately for you, the Queen doesn't read that paper...

How about Edwin?

If you've got the codes, you won't need to sully your hands with extracting the data from him. I know that might give you some measure of pleasure, but time is of the essence, no?

You've got the box, you'll have the codes. Edwin is just taking up space at this point.

D:

Let me consider this. Give me a moment to think. I'll get back to you soon.

Alright Michael. Here's my offer. I can get Edwin home and give him email privileges. I'm sure you want more but that's all I'll get out of
the Queen tonight.

I know it's a token but it's something, right?

Me:

Quote:
If that's all we can get out of the Queen, then we'll need something from you as well. You say that Jonah has more value than even he knows. So if you can only offer getting Edwin home and email access, then we'd also like all of the information that you have involving Jonah and his information.

What do you say?

Also, what's our timeframe?

D:

Quote:
Jonah...his information? Well, I know what I know. Jonah doesn't exactly love talking to me. As far as untapped potential, I'll offer up what I know but it's mostly instinct.

What time-frame do you need? Take as long as you like.

I'm going to crash. Jet lag is getting the better of me.

Have a lovely evening
Delilah

The Aces? Don't know them very well. They don't like coming around the
Queen. She's a tad abrasive...I'm sure you've noticed. Why they don't
step in is anyone's guess. Maybe the Spade is leading the charge?

Aside: yes I am being polite/nice to her, it's my nature to at least try to do so. If you don't like that, please don't bother fussing at me.

At this point, I'm trying to get her to focus on Korp and not Flynn. Making her think Korp is her biggest worry.

A synopsis then...

As the Korp has recently announced that they have Morcar and the box, and
we have a certain something they want, negotiations are going to be made.

This appears to be out of the passengers' hands for the moment. Of
course, a new card stands to be revealed tomorrow. Who knows what might

Now if I were in your shoes, I would see this differently. Many have
complained of helplessness. So sad. Is your group really so feeble?
