It's fingers are longer, I think the other guys are right. The fingers are folded under.

It really pisses me off that they would show the monster on TV. That was like the whole draw of the movie for people.

Crying or Very sad

Well if it was only filmed in America, then, well, they shoulda saw it already, it's been 2 weeks Neutral I know people don't like to see a movie when its crowded, but still.

Also market research has probably shown that a lot of people still think they don't show the monster. I said this in another post somewhere so I'm trouting myself, but because of all the "Blair Witch" references people automatically get in that mindset. They're probably showing a glimpse to prove to people that you're gonna see a big-ass monster if you pay to see this movie.

I do find it a wee bit ironic that in a forum where we have heaps of spoilers available about the monster's appearance, in screenshots, fanart, and detailed descriptions (and debates) people are whining that they show the monster in the more recent advertising. The film has been out for 2 weeks, it just released in what is probably it's second largest potential market (UK). I agree that it's likely market research is saying people that haven't seen it think they never get to see the monster, because of assumptions based on Lost and JJ Abrams - I know I've mentioned the film to several people that hadn't seen the film yet said "I know you never get to see the monster."
My response has always been "Think again."
They then often ask more about seeing the monster, or more annoyingly "are you sure?". My responses are "go see it for yourself, but it's not like a model on the runway." and "I've seen the film twice, and seen more screenshots than JJ Abrams did in his dailies." respectively.

What it boils down to is that those that wanted to see the monster but not before they see the film have probably already gone; those that wanted to see the monster whether or not they've seen the film have seen it in places like this forum; those that think they won't see it haven't bothered to check here OR go see the film - and the ads will encourage them to actually go see it.

Think about how the face would look with the mouth closed people. When you think about it, it looks just like it did when it ate Hud....

There are no inconsistencies... You're seeing the monster with it's motuh wide open in these shots, whereas its mouth is closed right before it eats Hud...

ive attempted drawing it already...

from the side when closed... it starts off going down, then curves back up till it reaches the middle of the face, then curves back down the other side.

in the middle, those top two fangs go between the two large fangs that jut up from the end of the lower jaw.

Like this:

/\VV/\

except, longer and sharper.

Agreed, absolutely. I think an item of note is that they probably spent more time on the effects in the Hud-eating scene.

I'm actually more interested in our monster's eyes.

This is the image that shows the whites of its eyes that J.J. Abrams wanted to have.

Yeah, the eyes are interesting. It appears that when he opens his mouth his eyes bulge out. I think there must be a purpose for that. Kind of like when a shark opens it's mouth his eyes roll back to protect themselves. I think when MGP opens his mouth the eyes bulge out to see better, like a panoramic view.

And now we truly know that the purpose of this movie, this ARE, was not to entertain us, but to find a new path to monetary gain.

I'm sorry, I cannot say this is cool. It is sad. All these months, and there MGP is, on the frigging television. "There it is, right there," the commercial beckons, "the infamous Cloverfield monster. Don't you want to see more of it? Don't you want to know what everyone is talking about?"

I'm beginning to think that hype and advertising, however fantastic they've been in the past seven months, are the real monsters here. Hell, I'm so mad I might go destroy Manhattan.

totally agree. I can't believe it.
