Alright, I'll do it.

[TROUT] Trout http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22615&highlight=tanker&start=30

Within less than one hour of our seeing the preview clip in which we first learned of the tanker, Red Walrus posted a theory that MGP had been inside it. This was followed by the usual exhaustive analysis on the size of tankers, depth of New York Harbor, speculation on the physical dimensions of MGP, questions regarding loading/unloading him into the tanker, the purpose of double hulls, etc.

There's nothing new under our sun.

Like i said in my first post... lots of threads about the tanker but no threads that my theory would fit into the discussion on them.

If you look in the pic on 1-18-08.com, they were using alot more firepower on mom than Baby. they used missiles, and since i was in the navy i can tell ya that the guns on those ships have way more firepower than an RPG or a tank that was used against baby MGP.

still...if they knew what killed the mom common knowledge would tell you you need the same firepower. so they should have brought in bigger guns...seems like a strange choice to use lesser firepower especially after this one is half way through the city then their like o well it might work lets just keep doing what were doing...idiots.

The missiles on a ship like tomahawks, wouldn't get clearance to drop into NY (but later could have with hammerdown) and the guns that are on ships aren't really transportable off the ship.

"*Yawn*. Ok And just how did "they"? (who are they?) get this giant in the tanker? Just opened the door and walked him in on a leash perhaps? He was very co-operative and nobody saw him .. he didnt want to attack the tanker,or the dock, or the loading personnel.. he just squeezed himself in there and kept silent until somehow, (maybe he looked out the porthole) he knew he was at the SOL and it was time to freak out!.. And just why would they be secretly shipping a monster to NYC in the first place? Disco contest? karioke night? Baaahhh!

You are not a critical thinker my friend.."

Good times. Apparently this guy's definition of critical thinker is someone who doesn't pay attention. Tagruato is dragging MGP (or another of the same species) with a tanker in the manga, so to act like the whole idea is ridiculous because you don't know how they did it is just plain stupid. Maybe they lulled it to sleep. Maybe it hibernates and they were planning on putting it somewhere secure before it woke up. Maybe it is normally docile and allows them to put the chains on, but started freaking out due to "separation anxiety."

maybe its a baby and has been down there for thousands of years and something woke it up, now its made its way to NYC and is pissed off and scared. Just like JJ Abrams said ..

Someone needs to tell me why this is a trout. The link goes to the widget thread where there is only one post that goes with my theory....

Quote:

Sweeeet!!!!!!
What's up with Marlena, she almost seems infected already.

Could the monster be contained in the oil tanker, that's why Tagruato said about doubling their tankers' hulls, and then it gets out by the SOL.

Yet there is no other posts about it. No discussion. Just this one post and thats it. Red walrus didn't get one reply period.

I give up. This is my final post. Either this ARE is dead or their isn't anyone here that cares anymore. People would rather trout something or put it down than to discuss it. But yet theres a 15 page thread about MGP sexual gender. Not to mention excessive threads about MGP vs insert monster here and Cloverfield 2 threads. Most of you are morons. most of you haven't been following this thing from the beginning. Sometimes i wonder if anyone is even still looking for updates and new websites like i am or coming up with theories. People would rather argue if the military was properly potrayed or that an SD card can't be recorded over. Not to mention my favorite thread... "what city would you like to see destroyed by MGP's?" Seriously people ... have all the smart people left?

I'M DONE. FOR THE FRIENDS I MADE HERE... I LOVE YOU ALL. IT WAS QUITE A RIDE AND I LOOK FORWARD TO LOOKING OVER CLOVERFIELD 2 WITH YOU ALL.

Sincerely,
Ryan Timothy Clark Sears

Good night and good luck

Normalized rant text. I bet at least someone will seek to make this a size they can read: See, subtlety does work. - E

I specifically remember there being an entire thread devoted to this around the time that the widget came out. Not one post, but an entire thread that was quite involved and had some well thought out ideas.

Actually, Ryomi, the thread to which I linked had 46 pages. Not posts, pages. Yes, initially, there was no response to Red Walrus' comment. I made a post on page 23 in which I mentioned several things, including the fact that I noticed what appeared to be a Tagruato logo on the tanker. Because that post was made in the middle of a silly flame war that occupied the middle of that thread, and perhaps because it was at the bottom of the page, it was also soundly ignored.

I tried again on page 29 with what also turned out to be a bottom of the page post, but this time I added screenshots pointing out what I believed to be a Tagruato logo on the tanker. This time, I suppose because of the more eye-catching pictures, the discussion took off. Beginning on page 30, a vigorous discussion began, in which the Tagruato logo I saw was confirmed, and the two prevailing theories regarding MGP (he was in the tanker vs. he followed the tanker) were discussed extensively.

I can understand your perhaps not wanting to sift through all 46 pages, but the discussion is definitely there. If that thread isn't enough for you, how about this one, http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22638&highlight=tanker+mgp entitled "What was in the tanker?" in which the concept of MGP being inside it was also discussed.

I, too, am disappointed by the seeming end of the game, and the proliferation of inane threads, but a trout is a trout. If you have something new to add to this theory, fine. But the idea itself is hardly new.

Have a great day.
