Evil cocktail shrimp, man.
I always thought they looked kinda shrimp/crustacean-y. I still agree with the 'bear trap' jaws idea, though.

The producers need to put some concept art out.

I find it interesting that we've all seen the movie, yet we still don't really know what the monster looks like...at least not in it's entirety.
This could be one of the reasons for the poor box-office performance since opening weekend.

Nothing press related has indicated from JJ or Reeves that there is more than one monster, not counting the parasites of course.
JJ Abrams wrote:
"He's a baby. He's brand-new. He's confused, disoriented and irritable. And he's been down there in the water for thousands and thousands of years."
Never is Clover referred to as "them" or "they". It's always "he".
As for the size discrepancy: I'm not sure something that big would have the ability to move that fast, as his muscles would surely weigh tons each, and his bones would crack under his own weight. Of course, one can argue that he's been underwater for thousands of years, and can withstand the pressure of the deep so he is pretty strong.
At the end of the day, the CGI artists have to make the monster fit into the movie, and eyewitnesses (IE the movie viewer) didn't always see what they THOUGHT they saw.
In a couple of months the DVD will be out and we can listen to the commentary.
Sometimes you just have to suspend your disbelief and enjoy the movie, after all, you already are buying into a giant sea monster walking thru Manhattan...

Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.

I dont know. The overall shape of the monster here
and here look totally difrrent.
Just match up the teeth in both shots as well. In the subway scene I can count
Also compare the top teeth as well.
Anyway EXCELLENT pictures!!! Great job man.
Also stop with the JJ Abrahms theres only one thing because he says MGP is having seperation anxiety so in order to have Seperation Anxiety you have to be SEPERATED from something.

This is absolutely ridiculous... I can't believe that there's still people out there that still thinks or holds any sort of question about the possibility of more than one monster in this movie.
By the way, the reason why people keep using J.J. Abrams as a defense against this whole "multiple monster" theory is because he was the Producer and the brain child behind it... So usually, if that's what he says- then there's only one monster. If this movie was inspired by Gorgo- then yeah, there would be a possibility for there being more than one monster... but it was inspired by JUST ONE monster; Godzilla.

I fail to see how they look different. And honestly, it's not like these are top quality. You could be HUD running next to HUD running like you did with the monster, and they wouldn't look the same.

Im not really suggesting a second monster maybe it is just a goof but to me it looks like the monster could have just squished HUD i mean look at the tank squishing
An Abrahms M1A1 Tank(standard of the US military) is 9.5ft high, 12ft wide and 26ft long
Meaning the monsters foot had to be over 26ft long and over 12ft wide to be able to completley flatten the tank(as it did
if HUD was pretty tall say 6ft and remember he fell over so he was probably laying down or sitting up when he spotted the monster he would be 4-6ft long
the monster would have no problem just walking over the top him, squishing him or even noticing him at all
