Gerry
saving Bec

Waiting is not my best ARG quality... so...

I sent message on 1in50 to Gerry. Told him he was right, don't trust Jason. And asked what he thought about finding Jason....which would make Martin and Rebecca safe. (waiting for a reply)

If Rebecca was able to hack Ophiuchus site, to give us phone#, then she should be able to hack Jason's website, and find out where he is? Or at least where he is posting from? Then send the news crew there to interview him, live, followed by his arrest? And..1in50 has the technology to magically decrypt files....so hacking must be very easy for them, she can get 1in50 to help her.

Well, she did post that she wanted ideas....I don't have any better ideas at the moment.

I think we should stick to the IRC chat for now, but let's check in now and then in the 1in50 site to see if Gerry's there, and if he is, we should try to worm more answers out of him.
Just in case anyone forgot, the IRC chat's located in #ophiuchus Wink

I understand why the IRC is being used, but it would be helpful if someone would keep the thread updated as to the goings on there since a number of us have no at work access to IRC (it is blocked by my company's webfilters).

Just popping in. I've tried to get on the 1in50mil site and it never seems to load correctly for me. Razz Because of that (and how lost I'm getting when I can't keep up from work!) I've pretty much bowed out here. I'm hoping the Becca angle at wordpress is easier to keep track of.

I don't think anyone is being left out. There isn't anything happening to update. I think this is almost over.....and the PM is just looking for a way to end it. (Just my opinion)

Just a note about uF chat room....it takes me six or seven clicks on the arrow, before letting me in chat room. So for those that cant get there, make sure you try more than once. (I understand the ones blocked from work, because u have to allow Java to run first) Your security settings may have to be tweaked to allow the site also.

New entry on the becsontherun Blog:

Quote:
Safe house
March 8, 2008

So. There's a valid reason why I didn't blog yesterday.

I'm in a kinda safe house at the moment. Gerry's here after finding me in Manchester. I guess some of you were a little confused as to whether I could trust these guys or not. I'm pretty sure I can. They seemed to know all about Project Ophiuchus and Jason. Gerry's been telling me how they put their campaign on hold and focussed all efforts on finding us. I guess it was the right thing to do. Firstly, so their campaign isn't damaged and they don't look like the ones who Kidnapped us, and secondly because they had the ability track us down.

This couldn't have happened without your help though. I'm thankful for what you guys have done. To Leyton, for finding the USB stick I left in Brunel University Library, and Zaranai for retrieving Martin's and all the rest of you for mucking in here and there. I guess it's pretty obvious that we created the authorisation files to ensure that the people who found them had good intentions, and were vast in number. I'm afraid to say that although we'd been watching what Jason's been doing from afar we couldn't be sure if we could trust you. Thankfully, you proved yourselves.

Project Ophiuchus - it's not over yet. Over the last year, I've been caught up with that stupid project. It's like a drug. The more you commit yourself, the more you have to commit. I guess it's a bit World of Warcraft, in a weird sorta way.

We're not free yet. Jason and his minions of Recruits will still be looking for us, we've only temporarily stopped them. What we've found from hacking the site to change the authorisation files is that yes, like any system it has weak spots and no, it's not impenetrable. But we're only able to do so much. Gerry's been giving us some ideas for how we can take the website down. it's the heart of the project. If the website and database are offline, then the participants / recruits, whatever you care to call them aren't able to feed in their information.

You need to help us with the final stages. We're plotting away, but I promise they'll be ready soon. We really won't be able to succeed without your help over the next few days. God only knows what will happen if you fail. I really hope you can do it. We're in such a real state. We've had enough of Jason's sick little manipulations and we want to return to the real world, helping real people. Our lives have been turned upside down.

As far as we're concerned,

This is not a game.

Becs x

P.S. I promise I'll get around to answering more of your questions. Helping you to help me and all that. Leave 'em below

Confirms that Gerry & co. at 1in50million are the good guys, and that Jason and P.O. are the baddies.

The part "this is not a game" kinda makes me queasy.....

I'll be around all day, snowed in, in Ohio.

Yeah, "TINAG" makes you wonder, with the real world LHC and CERN and controversies surrounding both (especially the LHC), what this game is accomplishing / where this game is going. For now, I am figuring that Becca thought PO was all some kind of game, and the PMs are just having fun.
