[SPEC] The problem of size he is just a baby? wtf Someone said that JJ claimed that the monster was only a baby. So i started to think more about it and here is what i came up with.
If its a baby how big is he going to get?! seriously, its really huge as it is now. when he grows he will be so big that it might not notice people or tanks firing at it. people will literally be like ants.
What ever happens, the monster needs to be killed. It cant be controlled or left alone. Where is it going to get the food to grow? or the food to live once it s an adult? There are so many whales out there, and he doesnt have the filtering tools on its mouth to eat krill or even average size fish. If this thing eats meat, and i assume that he does because of his mouth, then its not going to last long. If he eats trees, then he will completely deforest the world. Eventually he will run out of food, or spend his time moving from continent to continent eating.
This means that whatever human population remains will also be migratory, moving away from the monsters path and retaking the land he just left. Until the monster dies of hunger or natural causes (or something kills it
so if it cant be killed and cant die from hunger (which is just ridiculous), then we are screwed.

How is DarknessRising's spec any different from, for example, the thread where we attempt to give Mr Grumpy Pants a species name? Or a look at the realism with which the military is portrayed? "It's only a movie" can be ascribed to numerous threads.
There are constant posts about wanting better things to discuss and yet when a topic comes up for discussion that a select few don't feel is worthy of discussion it gets slapped with a trite pic (often repeatedly in what can only be described as a wall-pissing competition) which usually kills it. There is an obvious hypocrisy there.
Usually interesting points can come out of discussion around subjects that some might think aren't worthwhile, so the best course of action would be to post a reply if you have something to add to the discussion, whatever that is. If you disagree with something, stick that down too. If you're not interested in the discussion, as I can only assume that most of you posting above aren't, then don't post and leave it for someone that is interested.
If no one is then the thread will slip to the bottom of the board, no harm done.
Of course, if this is a trout, then you know the way to approach them too.

This is why I keep many of my comments to myself and post on existing threads cause it seems veterans like to flame on newcomers. Though I've notice many do tend to not research before posting.

Hmm.. what if he is a plant eater.
He did end up in Central Park after all,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
and didn't seem to like the taste of camera carrying comic geek,
maybe theres some truth in that.
Now I have this vision of an apocolyptic Earth (or America) with the remaining population migrating out of his path, planting trees and plants to live, and therefore ensuring the hungry monster comes stomping back eventually to make them move again..

If you really wanted to look at this realistically, the 'baby' that is MGP would be as impossible to exist (move, stand, breathe) on the surface of the Earth as his hypothetical mom.
So it's a good thing this is a movie.
