pm from dissid21

I just started following redkore again because it's started getting interesting. Today I signed up for the forum at redcore, and sent a message to informationSPLATyour-house.com. This evening I received a PM on the forum:

Greetings from NIA,

We are looking for new members and have looked at your file. You will be happy to know that you qualify. Would you like the chance to join the elite ranks of the NIA?

I will be in touch.

Pardon the trout, but has anybody else received this? I replied that I'd be happy to join. Any ideas on what NIA stands for?

No clue, but I registered, so maybe I'll get the invite too.

Dissid sais this at tempest login...

DO NOT TALK WITH NIA CONTACTS. One has contacted you.
He is not who he says he is. He talks in lies and riddles.
He means only to confuse you. REMEMBER: 1945 WAS A BAD YEAR.
-dissid21

but yet he is recruting new NIA elite contacts..!?? doesn't anybody but me find that strange?? It woud seem that GCO1945NIA acctully works for Dissid21 and that he has been writning all those nia-encrypt messages for him. Nia contacts deceive and lie because they are not who they say they are.

It's mayby to confuse everybody, because it sure confuses me..

But what can he gain by balktalking him self??

It might be that he means to not talk with anybody BUT him?

I'm not entirely sure, but the impression i get is that he does not want us to talk to anybody BUT him. Obviously, Dissid and GCO don't like each other.. why is beyond me. My theory is this: either they both work for this "NIA" ..and this "NIA" is set up so that the members are against each other.. or else one of them is lying.

Dissid might be trying to warn us not to talk to NIA contact just because GCO has NIA in his name. Has GCO ever claimed to work for the NIA? Dissid DOES seem to talk in riddles.. he says to avoid NIA contacts and that 1945 was a bad year.. that's a pretty good description of GCO.

Or maybe Dissid does not want us to join the NIA? Perhaps this is some kind of trick?

Or even the next puzzle?

I don't know.. i'm just as confused as you guys. This whole thing is getting weird. I'm not sure where we'll go from here.

But it sure is fun! Cool

Well, I'm afraid my brief foray into NIA recruitment will be ending. I received further instructions and refuse to carry out part of them. I have withdrawn my application. I hesitate on whether I should post their letter here since they have asked for secrecy. However, I think that kind of secrecy goes against the spirit of this message board. I'm kind of old school in my belief that a message board such as this one should not part of the game and that anything can be discussed here freely without worrying about what in-game characters might say about it.

I guess I won't divulge their entire letter, but I will say this. They asked me to create a second account on unfiction and not tell anybody about that. That's the part I had problems with. I just thought you all ought to know since they might be asking other people to do the same. I really hope they won't be sending plants or shills here, but I can't think of any other reason for needing a second account.

I noticed that this board has no moderator. You more active oldbies might want to ask SpaceBass or another admin about making some of you moderators.

Paula, quite hesitant about this game now (if it is indeed a game)

Indeed. You're really starting to irk me, rk_marc.

I for one hope that the forum is locked once again, though that is Space's decision. I see no reason why it should remain open. And I believe stopping the communication in this forum will help protect the open communication in the others. They have their own forums for people to congregate on and it's a shame that all new members may be mistrusted in the beginning as being a part of this mockery.

Hmm, good points. I was for keeping the forum open, but with moderators, so that people have a place where they can feel free to discuss whatever's going on at redkore. The only other forum is on the redkore's servers. Tanner, a member there who decided to quit said that somebody's tried to change his password on that server soon after he quit. Therefore, I don't think users of that forum could trust that anybody is who they say they are, not even established members. That's why I thought it would be nice for the players following the game to have this forum but with moderators, because redkore has no control over it.

On the other hand, I don't really see any reason why SpaceBass should want to waste his bandwith on this topic. I'm not really sure lately that this thing is even a game. Perhaps it would be best to just lock it after all. Those that are still interested in redkore (not me) can either establish their own forum elsewhere or just use the official redkore forum.

No one was involved more closely with the original teleport than I was.. I don't look at the project the same way and never once did i witness what imbri described as "fights" in IRC.

Nor do I understand why all of you are reducing yourselves to personal attacks against marc. Marc attempted something that had never been tried before.. some people loved it (myself included), some hated it. My finding was that the people who hated it were the ones who were most entrenched in the "typical" ARG genre.. the entirely puzzle-based, mathematical, net-venture. Once faced with something that counfounded logic.. something with no answer.. you turned to squabbling and name-calling against marc (which we are again seeing today).

In discussions i have seen people talk about the "perfect" arg, one that blends reality and fiction.. a game that never admits itself to be a game. Whatever is going on at redkore could very well be this perfect game.

A user at this board has claimed that a member of the redkore community asked him to make usernames over here. We don't know for sure if the person who asked him was really in-game.. and we can't even be sure if that was really the intention. Those who post over at these forums are well aware of the rules.. i'm sure marc even knows of them (i'm knocking on you, marc). Perhaps the intention behind the request was different? Perhaps it was meant another way? I don't see it as justifiction to shut this down. I ask the moderators to find out if anyone HAS done this.. certainly if an in-game person from RedKore IS breaking the rules, and it can be proven.. then this might be a real argument (although I disagree even with that, to some extent.. but we'll leave that for another day).

I honestly have not seen enough to justify taking RedKore away from these forums. I love the unfiction community and I think we've produced quite a bit in our attempts to solve what i call the "redkore question."

I request that everyone cease their personal attacks against marc and against a game you don't want to understand. Let those of us who want to play, play.. and leave us be. If Space wants to take it down, so be it, as it is his choice. But I am very much against it. And I fail to see why so many of you are.

Nyght_Shyft, I understand your reluctance to lose this forum considering your strong interest in Red Kore. However, I must assure you that each of the problems you described above, but did not witness yourself, did indeed happen. I was either present for each, or informed by a person that I trust. Red Kore, on the other hand, has consistently and progressively destroyed any trust or benefit of the doubt I might have been inclined to give them.

It seems that every time someone gets close enough to showing that what Red Kore is doing has no substance underneath the thin layer of obfuscatory faux-philosophizing, the nature of the Red Kore "experience" suddenly reorganizes itself. I'm no longer inclined to believe that Red Kore might just be the most mind-blowing ARG experience ever. And I don't have the time to deal with fallout from the manipulative crap that Red Kore and its mods seem to instigate.

I was. marc was a jerk. Even he admitted it.

Nyght_Shyft wrote:

In which way is breaking the rules supposed to be meant? Oh, break them that way, I see.... now I get the intention!

Nyght_Shyft wrote:

And, for me, it's a matter of not having seen enough to justify keeping Redkore on these forums.

Nyght_Shyft wrote:

You can't say that! It's like me saying "I request that you stop being nice to marc and forever shun the redkore sham!" I would never request that people supress their opinions or thoughts, because it's a freedom of speech issue, plain and simple.

Nyght_Shyft wrote:

I thought Redkore had their own forums!

Dude, we can have this argument all day if you want. Fact of the matter is, if Spacely and Paula say that they have seen this supposed email, I believe them. And if the email is asking people to break the rules on behalf of Redkore, then Redkore should not be discussed here anymore.

I apologized for that, Brooke.

I feel I've been quite pleasant since then.

To tell people that in order to play their game they have to create a false identity on unfiction is just wrong on so many levels and, sadly, so typical of a guy that enjoys causing derision & infighting in the name of mind expansion.

Errr, that was nothing to do with me, Brooke.
