I received a box as well, and have posted about it at ARGNet.

I coded up a spreadsheet to decode the cards. It's at:

It does letters, only.

jamesi's card works out to:

I did it the old fashion way (I couldn't resist messing with punch cards again... it's only been twenty years after all!) and got the same result.

Seeing cards are different, so I leave it to your method for being a little quicker... Smile

BTW...

jamesi's card is #5 there. Assuming this person is IG, they must be providing all the cards available as a central source, just in case any of the cards mailed to strangers never makes it to us.

Think we have to decipher them all. Sad

Dear friends,

this ARG is really intensive and cool (alas, mostly in German contents). I will report the news later, but now I need your help.

We have found five joker cards with five persons on it.
http://www.argwiki.de/index.php5?title=Final_Mill_-_Ungel%C3%B6ste_R%C3%A4tsel#Die_f.C3.BCnf_Joker

Four of five people were recognized, but this one is till now a mystery.
Do you know this historian person?

OK, perhaps I've to say, what's going on with this cool German ARG...

Van Velsenmeer Foundation:

They organized an audit for applicants (bloggers, computer science students and just ARG-players) in Berlin. It was a real meeting included a charismatic speech about new society, some weird encoding tests etc. And there was also new drink (Slusho!, where art thou?) named Clarence.

We've found the website of this fictional drink: http://www.drink-clarence.com/
and German "commercial" on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcY_U1X6JpA
It was created for Mary Shelley (author of Frankenstein). Frankenstein also plays a great role in this game - perhaps it's about AI.

Meanwhile

Vivien Pastiof: the blogger of http://www.in-a-rush.com/ is really IG. Her friend Daniel was kidnapped (he worked for Van Velsenmeer). Here a video of Daniel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8RMN6-tkXg

She investigates about this and meet herself with another ARG players looking for new hints.

New website was found: http://www.sandmen-inc.com/ A company selling toy tools. Pretending to sell. If you subscribe the infos, you'll get newsletters, which have hidden codes. With these codes people found in Google Map locaion in Munich and travelled to this location with Vivien. And they found the Joker cards (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=485454).

These are only 2-3 impressions of this big project.

And nobody knows, who stands behind of it. They must have money: they rent a house for audit, they pay the whole travel costs for all part-takers of this meeting etc. etc.

But this is only meta-mystery. The IG mystery will come...

Btw, our ARG-player are really smart Smile

There was a password-secured library on the webpage of this strange Van Velsenmeer Foundation
http://vanvelsenmeer.org/lib_login.php

One player registered a domain http://velsenmeer.org/, registered there an email-address of a co-worker of this foundation and asked the Foundation Chef about password. And she has got a reply
http://forum.patmo.de/index.php?topic=96.msg1027#msg1027

So here are the data to this library

Check this out, these are only english textes in the Library. What do you think about the selection of these textes?

Oh no, the game is really explosing now.
Vivien, the blogger from in-a-rush.com (IG blogger) has got with our help the codes for the cards. And her kidnapped friend Daniel was returned.

But...

Here http://www.sandmen-inc.com/sandburg/ a shadow rebellic group Sandmen found, that Daniel wasn't kidnapped. It was just staging, because Dr. Homscheid, the Chef of Van Velsenmeer Foundation seems to have another wishes: he is looking for Vivien. Because she is progeny of Ada Lovelace, British mathematician.

Perhaps Dr. Homscheid want to use her DNA. Perhaps perhaps perhaps...

Anyway, the game is really flourishing now.

OMG...

The "kidnapped" Daniel is the "bad guy". He kidnapped Vivien now and want from us (and the shadow group Sandmen) the masterkey for the 5 codes.
