Yes, wasn't there some statement that the ARG will continue, albeit more slowly?

Hmm. This might be a trout, but is there some link where the URL has "6" or "six" in it, and have we tried changing it to "seven"? Old ARG tricks are often the best.

Small details?

Quote:
Sorry Kids!

But this ARG is over with. What you see is what we get.

You will not see anything till:

A. the DVD comes out

B. they announce the squel

Both in which are not going to happen for quite some time.

The IG sites did their jobs. Nothing more to be said. Yes they are some small details left untouched but in my opinion does not really matter nor would it effect the movie at all. Movies leave things out. It a very common practice.

Dude if we didnt pay attention to "small" details we wouldn have found slusho.jp so in my "opinion" the smallest details are really the largest.

techically this ARG is far from over.

the manga will still be released this month, March, and April.

if nothing else comes up and the comic ends? then I MIGHT be convinced it's over.

Obviously it's slowed down. the movie has finally been released and the Marketing Dept. at Paramount/Bad Robot are not investing all their time and $$ into this ARG

patience, little one, patience.

just because it has slowed down does NOT mean it is over. the comic is still there and this could unlock something new. with JJ Abrams in charge, you can never just jump to conclusions.

expect the unexpected.

We have the date and time the Tagruato satellite piece fail in the ocean. And we have the date when the Chuai station was destroyed by the monster. If the monster attacked the Chuai station before the satellite piece fail in the ocean than what could the importance of the satellite piece be. Another point is that the monster doesnt seem to eat humans or whales.

I propose we either call the monster clover or Yaenototo which means wild monkey fish in japanese. And not MPG that doesnt do him justice.

Just a thought...

I read a post recently that had a fanboy script for the sequel. I wont comment on the script, except for that they are calling the monster MGP, only MGP stands for "Monstridae Grandis Paratism". I actually think that this would be a good name for the monster, seeing as how MGP has been what people have been so affectionately calling the monster since months before the release. I've also heard that its been called O.B.U.M, but thats mearly speculation, because i cant nail down what the O in the initials stand for, but the B.U.M stands for Big Ugly Motherfucker. Now that one is a believable name in my opinion, partly because if the Military were the ones left to name the monster, they would probably go with something like that, since they are the creators of awesome Anagrams such as F.U.B.A.R and S.N.A.F.U . Just a thought.

no that picture of half eaten whales must meen it doesnt eat or attack them at all.

usually a PM will drop us a hint, if things aren't moving at the speed of their liking. Maybe the viral aspect is done. Nobody ever said that this would go on past the movie, just speculated. i could see it picking up again closer to the dvd release, hell i could be wrong. the manga is all we have to fill in the peices and lets face it those take some time to make. Maybe we could dig a little deeper see what comes up, maybe the
PM's will throw us some scraps, we'll just have to wait and see.

crow you got what i was saying all wrong if the monster ate whales or humans
1. Hud would of been swallowed whole and not spit back out
2. No he didnt "eat" the whales in the 1-18-08 pic, he just attacked them if he ate them there wouldnt be any evidence of whales beening attack.
3. The monster might be confused about how he eats he might think he eats with his "mouth" and doesnt understand that he has another set of smaller arms used for "sucking"(he could be a blood sucker?).

I just gotta know how we can be so positive that those are whales guys. I mean, look at the pic. What whales have you seen out there that have multiple horns on them? i dunno WHAT the hell that is that were lookin at. I know that i did read somewhere in one of Matt Reeves interviews, where the interviewer brought up the possibility that there was more than one of these things out there, and Reeves just smiled, and said that he cant confirm anything, but wouldnt that be an amazing concept, or something along those lines. So what if what were looking at is MGP himself dead and in pieces on the shoreline? i mean, in the pictures just before that, they show Tag tankers and an airstrike team blowin the hell out of something in the ocean, and then the picture after it is just a huge pool of blood in the ocean, with the boat goin over it. And then the chunks of whatever the hell that is. I just dont know man. I mean, i know at the end of the movie there is that recording that says Its Still Alive, but what if they are talking about the Monster that attacked Manhattan, but maybe there was another one just off shore, getting ready to attack, like a mamma MGP or somethin??

I'm with you on doubting that's a pic of whales... I wondered if perhaps it was Mama TERRIBLE that was somehow killed and that's why Baby TERRIBLE is so grumpy and lost..
just a thought, I gets one from time to time. Question

umm.

no.

those are whales.

are there any real oceanographers around here? or sealife specialists?

that "picture" (it's actually an oil painting) is of WHALES. not some random monster.

it's clear as day. just look at it's head/mouth.

umm no dude.

to the left. there. at the bottom left corner. it's an eye and the side of the mouth... clearly a type of whale.

it's been confirmed, over at Cloverfield Clues.

I still find it a confusing picture, but that was probably the whole point.. to make people speculate and search it out.
I will take your word on it..
umm... and I am not a dude. Embarassed

Also if you check the thread here where we analized that picture, they went over every protusion with a fine tooth comb, and actually found the source picture for the whale in the background.

There isnt a single horn in the picture.. its a flipper. The whale is on its side.

Actually, both the bottom left feature and the one you circled are mouths. Yours was what led to the online picture that verified it.
And the carcass on the right is a mangled baleen whale. Tail first, then the back of its body towards the edge of the photo, and the base of its right flipper visible on the bottom right. The head is out of the frame.
