[PARODY] Merrifield
parody/homage

hey everyone, i've been reading this forums alot for the past few months because of cloverfield, but i never really saw the need to put my 2 cents in, but now i have something worth putting in here.

after i saw cloverfield, my brother jokingly said something about making a parody, which i immediately discarded because i couldn't really think of a way to make a giant monster look legit with the limited software options i have. but, a few weeks later he made this poster and i decided that i'd give it a try.

merrifield is a park around where i live, and the picture is of my high school, so im doing a mini ARG via myspace Smile. it's doing pretty well so far, i even as far to post some random images in bulletins à la 1-18-08.com.

some poor kid thinks that it's a bomb threat :/, but i was just going to ask what everyone thought about this idea?

Sounds pretty cool. But if you do make a movie, don't use any special effects and don't show the monster. If you want to know why, just watch the trailer for Monster (Cloverfield rip-off by The Asylum).

yea i have a semi - professional program for special effects called FXhome but creating something like a giant monster would be near impossible :/

i was just thinking having more of a focus on smaller "parasite" monsters.

That should be fine, just make sure you spend a lot of time on FX so they look really good. Apart from that, good luck!

Nice! It's not to fussy, which I like, and I love the roar.

No offense to you but... why does that roar sound SO low quality? I know my sound system works fine, but there is absolutely no low-end to it... no bass... what happened?

im gonna say the combination of downloading from a mypsace music player, rendering it into a lower quality sound type then ever lower through youtube would have an effect.

I would've liked the roar too, but I had my speakers up really high from watching Youtube all day...and it scared the BEJESUS out of me.

But sounds like an overall good idea! Rock On
