I tried to fill in the "WENDY WE MUST TALK" phrase, and was doing well and getting excited...until I reached "been" and realized there was no B, haha.

Great try, man Very Happy I never would've thought of that.

Squinting doesn't seem to work... ><

EDIT: Okay, so I may have SOMETHING to go on... Maybe.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
We have ten letters (distortion) with numbers above three of the letters.
There are ten squares in the bottom row of the grid.
Suppose we are to put the letters in "distortion" in their numbered order in the bottom of the grid....
Example: http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g90/xavier_valtiel/Distortion.jpg

Of course I could be horribly wrong. The way the letters lean is a much more definitive clue.

Maybe the squint-solve of the puzzle before it has hindered our ability to solve this one.

I'm thinking so, also. (I have an odd feeling the PM did that on purpose.... s/he could easily have put a black bar over the url....)

Well, working backwards from the answer:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The code on the "static feed" error page is made up of zeros and elevens. They make up morse code. For example: 0 11 = .- = A

some of the letters are given to you S_M___PP__

Use the bold part (for example, t2) go to that row (Row t) and pick the 2nd set of zeros and elevens (which is 0 11, which I already showed you is an A in morse code)

So it makes SAMTRAPPED which is what we found through squinting

so that doesnt help with our new 'distorted' puzzle

I thought that was Morse, just couldn't figure out the addressing. Nice work even thought it's moot.

Mmhmm. You did what I didn't even think of doing. Well done Very Happy

Now this thing is just evil....
It's clear from the arrow that we have to work our way up. But when we get to the top, I'm not sure.... do we start going down and start a zigzagging motion, or jump back to the bottom of the next column and go up again?

EDIT: Oh crap, I think I've figured out something else.
This little bastard is going to work a bit like a sudoku puzzle since one group of words is going to have to fit with another group of words....

all of the letters are used in words like wendy, sam, skinery, help, keys, three, sky, remains, shards, plinth, sun, sri lanka, harry....

this is making my head spin. It could be anything!

(ahhh head spin is in there too!)

Maybe it's this late hour... (almost 1 here)....
I'm going to get some sleep (for real this time) and see if that'll help my brain sort all of this out.
Night everybody.

I quickly wrote a program to through all possible permutations of words, assuming that the words would be placed in a specific order sequentially.

The resulting file was over 20Mb in length.

But I do get to think of this as a programmer. I can only guess that:

(1) the words do go one after the other. That means that there are at least two words (fourth and last in the sequence) that are "throw away" words that have no bearing to the solution we're looking for.

(2) There is no need for character substitution and the words would be placed, as-is, in to the grid.

So I'm trying to reverse engineer this, but not having much luck at it.

Has anyone made copies of any of the puzzle pages? I'm trying to work through these but can't get back to pages I've already seen. For instance the page with the "shards" link on it that led to the weights thing which seems to have been solved without being solved.

That's about where I've left it. I can click on the spoiler links but that doesn't help me understand how we got to them.

I am getting very lost.

Looking at the line width, it seems some of the lines are thicker than the others -- maybe the whole thing can be folded/cut/rearranged so that it's laid out like a sudoku grid?

I'm going to hazard a guess that we'll be able to look over case files in their entirety when we make it to Silver and unlock the "Filing Cabinet."[/quote]

Great work insomniacs!

Well there are 45 boxes and 45 letters italicised.

If you fill the boxes as indicated by the arrow you get :

POTSNOHTR

Could anagram to NORTH SPOT or STOP NORTH...

Edit. Im at work now and cant access the skyremains site or the image. Someone mind uploading it so I can work on it from here =)
