Does anyone remember Carmen Sandiego?
TV show or computer games...

It was like a primitive ARG requiring you to solve puzzles and historical / cultural clues to find the master criminal..

The best AND worst thing about the TV show was Rockapella. Razz

Where In the World... was the one I remember, playing with a friend (who was more addicted than I Razz)
fun game, and greatly educational if you were actually curious and took the time to study rather than just looking for the answers directly. hehe

The theme tune to the cartoon was awesome!! I was just trying to think up some other arg-like shows / games that we played as a kid... got any other suggestions?

The teachers even let us play the game at school, on the amega I think, because it was educational. Smile not sure if that makes me young or old Confused

DO IT, ROCKAPELLA!

I wonder if I can get a T-shirt that says that? Guess I could make my own.

How about "Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?".

I still remember the games too. I'm not sure which ones though...

I played them all. You have to respect any game that packs in reference books. (Actually I still have "what Happened When" within arms reach right now.) Still, I don't see how it's an ARG at all. Back in those days most games were educational. Carmen left a trail of knowledge for me to pick up and Donald Duck wanted to teach me about counting, fiscal strategy, and philanthropy.

To this day whenever someone makes an odd claim without backing it up I sing-song "The Warrant!" Which, I assume nobody gets.

It's abandonware now, means you can get it here for free. or buy the deluxe edition somewhere online, and the many spinoffs. This was one of the first games I played on my old 486, good times.

It was on TV but I believe *after* the multiple PC games.
