Yeah... I'd say it could possibly be the only way moving forward; something we tell Jason might trigger a memory or something too... Something which may help us decode the binary or w/e the oph files are.

I'd say send that email Sylvia... But let's wait maybe for a couple more opinions?

Yes, definitely send the email. We need to give Jason some help here. He could be really useful for us.

I'd say you're right. No need to give him inside info on Ophiuchus unnecessarily as that would point to one of us as a traitor to the project.

And ooh, did Jason have a crush?

So wait... Did Zara tell him about the file extensions already? Because I didn't mention those I just said it was encrypted.

I guess now we just wait to hear what his anon friend has to say... And according to the twitter, J does want those files decoded lol

Whoever planted those USB sticks probably didn't want to share some photos of Martin and Rebecca with us - we need to find out what those files mean.

Seems like jason thinks the files could be pictures possibly? Someone had talked about that earlier in this thread. Perhaps we needs ad a header or ending to the binary code for the picture to work? just a thought.

If Zii gave him the link to the directory, the OPH files are there as well, no?

Let's try to assume that it's a raw binary file. This is completely oddball, but short of anything better humor me...

First file is 19861 bytes. Subsequent files are 9624 bytes.

The first number, 19861, is a PRIME NUMBER, but I am assuming it's a miscount because of the odd number. Anyone out there have an exact count of the number of characters in that file?

I'm going to assume it's 19860, for now.
19860 = 2 * 2 * 3 * 5 * 331

9624 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 401, or 1203 whole bytes

The prime factorizations of the individual files doesn't lend itself to image dimensions.

Total bytes:
67980 = 2 * 2 * 3 * 5 * 11 * 103, doesn't even make for whole bytes

...that has more promise, but even so it ain't a particularly big file.

She didn't from what I recall... No-one has. He's only been informed of the pics and the rest was 'encrypted'

Because we were still unsure what to send him; I don't ever remember Zara doing that off her own back

No, all I said was that they were encrypted too. Weird. When I emailed him, I just attached the photos, didn't send the link to the directory.

I don't think he's saying that the .OPHs are photos, I think he's saying that the photos aren't what's important on there. At least, not all that's important on there. Donno why he only posted one set of photos, but w/e.

usb

Been trying to follow along with this. (then re-following other arg)

I think we forgot that there was a drawing of the usb stick that shows a number on it that looks like a number for a safe or a locker. Also with the message that 1000 words, mostly useless, ...... so maybe the OPH files are not really files, and we can get something(phone numbers, combination?) from the name of the files.

My other thought about the drawing was the clock with an X across it, may mean "Not Clockwise."
