[48][REF][Update] 48-hours.net.
Updates and discussion of 48-hours.net.

Since we don't have a topic for this, it'll be done here. We've been posting finds all willy nilly in other topics and we need to be more organized. Yesterday Titanium made a good find about the subjects :

Subject One: Haunted
Subject one, a professor at a Canadian university, is haunted by the death of a schoolmate from his American hometown. He also believes he has seen things leap from his dreams into real life. These things have devastated his personal life.

Subject Two: For Sale
Left to raise a child alone, her college plans thwarted, this woman has been forced into the miserable task of selling herself for money. More miserable, she has attempted to suffer in silence and keep it a secret.

Subject Three: Desperate
Fighting both for dreams he gave up to early as a young man and the respect of his family, subject three raises a stout soul to the winds of criticism even in the face of an unfulfilled life.

Subject Four: Secrets We Keep
This final year University student from Montreal is an adopted only child. Rather than being a dark secret, that is only the gateway to the shadows of her past.

Subject Five: Dr. Patient
A psych student, this subject intended to help people even at great personal cost. You will be stunned at what he though he was capable of doing.

No updates for Subject Six.

------------------------------

Also, Aaron and I discussed this and neither of us remember it being mentioned. If it was, it probably wasn't in the correct place thus it has been overlooked.

(Possible) New movie -

Derelict Hooks: Even prize-winning fighters become old men. Follow us from the streets of Brooklyn to the back alleys of Philly as we look into the sometimes gut wrenching, sometimes heartwarming world of the forgotten inner city boxers. Currently a long running film on TNSN, this 54 minute b/w film has taken a place among sports classic biographies.

So then we are not crazy? Has the synopsis of Derelict Hooks been there for a while?

I don't effing know. That'd require someone out of the six other people that's viewed this topic to actually respond.

Posting to say thanks and I'm happy and agree we should get organized. The 48Hours.net film updates and past film "Derelict Hooks"were noticed and posted about on 22Jan when we had no 48Hours.net thread. So,props for making the thread for the updates and discussion about the site.

We know that now and we would have known that in the beginning had organization been key around here and people weren't posting shit in the wrong threads. <3

So Ic, wanna be my cowboy partner (get that Brokeback Mountain scene out of your head, douchebag Wink) and go near ICON on this board?

Tim, I do believe those were posted *somewhere* but I have no idea where. Good call on posting them in it's own thread

It's cached; I had to go to the XML directly to read it...

Quote:
Filming this was challenging, both on personal levels (we experienced a painful loss among our staff during filming) and on technical levels. It's the tech side we'll be discussing here.

The subjects were made aware of our main camera, outside of the safety glass. That said it was difficult for them to see it and anything beyond it (a large factory area) was generally impossible to see, leaving a feeling of unease and even dread for the subjects.

This allowed for our staff to be on site in case of emergency without interfering with the process.

A second camera, an extremely small high resolution eye developed by Fraunhofer was mounted in the corner of the room above the safety door. It was tucked into the ceiling and carefully obscured. Some of the subjects didn't notice it at all.

Miniature microphones were installed in the electrical outlets and pre-existing intercom speakers were used for the interviewer to speak to the subjects. Feedback was a non-issue as the microphone's did not loop back to the speakers.

The washroom facility was very small and been relegated to storage space. Cleaned out it was evaluated as functional. This provided for a need while allowing no comfort in doing so, which worked out well for our needs.

Weather conditions occassionally interfered with filming, but only briefly and with little production loss thanks to battery back-up systems. The only issue was our inability to communicate with the subjects. We could still see and hear them.

The interviewer was stationed at a geographical distance of several miles from the subjects, having only a camera two feed (Fraunhofer)to visualize those with whom they were speaking.

Security was available onsite in case of any medical or environmental emergencies.

As for the site itself, a sawmill in Southern Ontario, Canada, it was initially rented for weekend use, but a two week shut-down allowed for production to speed up. It was generally a perfect location, except for it's lack of full hydro back-up.

Lighting was easily manipulated from outside of the interview room and the room itself was nearly soundproof, creating an excellent sensation of solitude in the subjects.

Night, the link is in the right-hand column just after Subject six. Thanks for posting the text, though. Smile

I saw the link, but the content (which is retrieved through an XML file from the site) was cached, so it still said the equivalent of "coming soon" for me.

*EDIT*
Direct link to back end site removed... by request from a higher authority. Sorry. My bad.

Thanks for explaining that, Night. I wondered how recently it was updated, so I must have checked there right after it did.
