FYI Obay does not seem to be a registered Trademark like it has in the advert. No canadian/american/uk Tms by that name.

Yeah who else here is actually in Ontario?
I may take some time on the weekend to drive around Guelph and see if I can find any of these on the bus shelters to see if we can find any different ones.

Here's a transcript of what's said on the recording if anyone's interested.
Quote:
"....Calling 1-888-YOU-OBAY. There's nothing worse than a child who won't do what they're told. You raise them, feed them, cloth them, sit through their violin recitals; and how do they pay you back?? They go ahead and think for themselves!
It's not right and it's not what you had in mind... Thankfully there's OBay! A new remedy from the makers of "why?BecauseIsaidso!" And "NotUnderMyRoof!"
Is your child ignoring your subtle suggestions? Are they not getting the hint when you tell them what to do!? It's time for OBay; Are they making important life decisions without listening to your valuable irriputable input!? Hello OBay! OBay works where other parental controls, like shouting, don't. Just one dose and you'll see a difference... Your truculant teenagers will be transformed into dosile pussycats, open to your thoughts, your ideas and most importantly the future you've mapped out for them.
So order your supply of OBay today... Because YOUR Wish is YOUR command!"
It then says to leave a message followed by £ to leave a message... Or press 1 for more options. - Did any of you who called press 1?!
Also... I've looked on like, dailymotion.com and youtube for vids tagged w/ OBay, Notundermyroof, BecauseISaidSo and whybecauseIsaidso and got nada.
If you press 1 for more options it just says "Leave a message after the beep"

Hey, someone actually found my information useful.
Unfortunately I haven't dug anything else up yet. I've emailed the contact address (nothing yet) and phoned the number.
I'm hoping they'll give us a bit more information come next week.

Yeah they'd probably be the people hired to "put up" the ads... But, they're a legit OOG company.
I ran a search for OBay on their site and got nothing.

Torontoist just broke the story: it's an ad for Colleges Ontario.

I'm not saying you're wrong but there's still not 100% undeniable proof there.

Obay Yea i saw this yesterday at creditview and burnamthorpe in mississauga, ontario and i couldnt believe me eyes. Does anyone have any further information on this? how can it be fake when theyre investing in road campaigns? Could it be a study to see how many people are interested, but if so wouldnt they realize that a significant number of calls would be in protest? id really like to hear more about this and am stunned as to why i cant on the internet.

We finally followed a lead from Accordion Guy Joey deVilla's blog and called up Rob Savage, the director of communications for Colleges Ontario, "an advocacy organization representing the province's 24 colleges of applied arts and technology." He told us, "In terms of our own marketing stuff, we're going to be launching that in a few weeks." We didn't quite take this as denial, given that 24 Hours quotes a representative of CBS Outdoor (which manages the TTC—but not the shelter—ads) as saying that "The next phase will be revealed in a couple of weeks." So we asked point blank if he knew who was behind the ads, and he replied, "You're probably going to have to check around, I guess." So we next tried the Ontario College Application Service, whose media guy was out of the office Friday.
Sounds to me like they're hinting at a potential ARG, or something viral, or something more. But, frankly, who the hell knows.

Ontario! Hey! I too am an Ontario girl - little late with the uptake on this one though
If it isn't the Ontario College thing that I smell Scientology! This is so much like the stuff they would do it would be freaky if it was not them
Anywhoo I am keeping an eye out here for any new stuff that pops up and will try to get some pics if possible!
