EDIT: apparently whatever type of game it was it's already been around for a long while. A Google search pulls up all sorts of hits.

(judging the short film series, The Second Renaissance, and the green Japanese(?) character, that's what it would seem to be.

Looks interesting. If it is a matrix ARG though, I wonder how it could possibly step out of the colossal shadow of our much loved previous matrix ARG, Project Mu.

Unless its a sequel, doubtful, but if Caesar, Texel and the gang return, I see my studies suffering from massive neglect.

the binary is probably a quote from the matrix.probably. the 1st definintly is and so is the qoute on the myspace i found but i dont really think its related. could be though has all rite stuff? but no real link other than the quote(that i seen)thanks degravity for clearing that up i seen there but didnt see it somewhere else so i figured id ask....learn something new everyday...

I just joined to get in on this discussion, as I've been trying to figure this out for a while now with no luck but a lot of theory which I won't bore you with, maybe someone else will see something I haven't.

The first time I saw this site, it was referred to in the Matrix Online forums in December of 2006. Back then it had a banner that said "game over", "welcome to the real world", the life imitating art code, thirdrenaissance.com, and "you are not awake", and a very matrix-y look to it.

They had also found the veritas page and decoded the binary life imitating art thing, but they also found some code (think it was in a source page) that translated to a date, 11/05/07. They weren't sure if that was a British date or an American date (May 11th or November 5th). I kept an eye on the site, and lo and behold on May 11th of this year, it changed to what you see now 'prelude' so maybe something will happen this year on Nov 5th as well, don't know.

The ads I've seen for it are all cryptic at best, some of them clearly relate to the Matrix phenomenom, but others seem to go beyond that. One says

Prepare yourselves.
The revolution will be televised.
But it will happen online.

I think it's made to look like it's possibly a game or ARG or something, but that in fact it isn't a game, only I don't know what.
