Also, the PMs have stressed that the Aporia Agathon Project is the game's code-name until its eventual release. Thus, I would assume that beyond evoking thoughts of pretty butterflies, it doesn't do much to indicate content.

Well thank you for that. Lain is new and just trying to be helpful. It's nice to see some enthusiasm.

s'okay

I'm bound to make mistakes. My real problem is being so bored with that other lame arg we're doing, Wish, that I so want more out of this one. Smile
I'm just over-enthused.

its fine, trust me, the IG/OOG debates will happen in every ARG multiple times for multiple reasons, theres nothing wrong with it, its part of the exploration.

btw, I found that project's site too, and i wasn't sure either, I agree it seems really creepy, even more so if its a real organization... I don't get exactly what it's mission is, but it sounds either really good, or really nefarious...

The latin translation is good, but it can also be translated differently, it can also mean: 'Out of One, Many" (On a side note, its funny that an organization that gets its name from a Greek word would take a motto from Latin...)

Personally, i think its OOG in the end though, its been around for quite awhile.

Yah - looks like a bit of a red herring, but please, don't get discouraged. That's half the challenge of an arg - finding a path, discussing it, and either pursuing it further or discarding it. If this is anything like Ny Takma (which was done by the same people), it should be a lot of fun and I hope you stick around.

Yeah, sorry if I came off as terse in that response. It was unintentional, and my opinion was by no means conclusive. Just figured I'd throw my two cents in.

Sadly, the ACME team has set a summer release date for the final project so it's unlikely to ramp up for a while...on the plus side, they seem to be dropping enough tidbits and teasers that the couple months waiting should be interesting.

It kinda seems to me like there's a mini ARG to hype up and increase interest in the real ARG coming... that's how epic this will be!

is it live or is it spam

There is some strange code in the second comment on the ACME article at ARGN.

We had some similar code in Whitechapel Foundation. We haven't been able to solve them and believe they may be spam. But thought I would post about it until we find out which it is.

Code:
GT8Tw6 yyqbyhuwfcwc, [url=http://gdcauragovhm.com/]gdcauragovhm[/url], [link=http://jblgynkmeiro.com/]jblgynkmeiro[/link], http://ckjlcodluidv.com/

comments have been deleted. IMO, that makes it spam.

I have to say that this game really has my hopes up. I'm looking forward to more fun stuff and ideas to base videos on. Smile

So, I have no idea, I've tried a lot of different techniques and as far as I can tell it's all gibberish to me... maybe spam.

I just finished the first ARG that'd I've actually been there for the bulk of, and wow, did it get me excited for this one!

When do you all think summer starts? May? June?

It apears the official name of the game starts with "S"

So here I am preparing to begin writing a post to everyone interested in the Aporia Agathon Project and I stumble upon some rather weird changes on the to my posts. Apparently some spammer exploited this old version of wordpress and jacked the blog up. I guess it's fortunate they did it, I've been needing to upgrade this old version of wordpress for sometime now (I've just had my hands full with… other things).

So throughout the night tonight you might notice a few complications as I upgrade the site. I'm not going to do much to jazz up the appearance yet, that's more work that'll take away from other work Smile After I get that done we'll drop in some information about S.. excuse me Aporia Agathon Project.

And we are now upgraded and ready to roll (that was easier than I had hoped

and theres another entry here:

And so the cycle of checking the mail 3 times a day begins...

I received my package, and WOW.

The package arrived in the mail yesterday, and was quite large. Inside, it was stuffed to the brim with packing peanuts and bubblewrap (and oh, you'd better believe I had fun with that bubble wrap). I set aside the mass of bubblewrap for later, and sifted through to find an envelope.

Inside the envelope were two letters on resume paper.

Quote:
Dear Michael (Last Name Omitted),

Thank you so much for your video submission. We understand that the videos took a good bit of work to put together and we wanted to show our appreciation for that effort. Enclosed in this package is a token of our appreciation, a gift from all of us to you. We enjoyed watching all of the videos and seeing what people are imagining our thoughts are.

We have approached this development slightly different than some other games have been approached in the past. We want our audience to know that there's something coming and we want to prepare them for that game with tidbits here and there. This game's development began in mid to late July of 2007 with a large portion of the development time dedicated to creating a back story as a basis for our narrative. We are trying to take familiar elements of stories and create a unique approach for our audience to enjoy.

The launch date for this game is rapidly approaching and many of the technical aspects of the development are falling into place. We're as excited and anxious as we imagine the majority of you are. We want to make sure we provide the best experience from many perspectives as we can. Be prepared to become involved and participate in various activities.

Page Two:
Quote:
With that we want to leave you with some words from Paul Laurence Dunbar:
We wear the mask

WE wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,--
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
And mouth with myriad subtleties.

Why should the world be over-wise,
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us, while
We wear the mask.

We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries
To thee from tortured souls arise.
We sing, but oh the clay is vile
Beneath our feet, and long the mile;
But let the world dream otherwise,
We wear the mask!

And finally, the grand finale -- inside the bubble wrap was a tribal mask over a foot long. Rather cool looking, I might add.
