I can't remember exactly what I said but it was along the lines that humans have already started experimenting on Awlyn and it was time for us to take the initiative and not to forget the missing kids. Have asked for a copy of the removed message. Will let you all know what happens.

PM sent by HPhillips to My character
"Your post has been removed for your own protection, pending further review. Please stand by."

As far as I know the students are not allowed to talk about the missing childrens. So I guess HPhillips just helped you to not run in trouble with the Dragon Council.

[EDIT] [META] and from and IG view: How should a Awlyn student know about ongoing experiments. So this might the PMs reasons to delete the post [/META]

Yeah, I could see how you might know that Sarah had disappeared but you probably know little to nothing about the experiments, as a 17-18 year old Awlyn, anyways... Maybe something a little more subtle that hints at experiments, like Highwind's post was... /shrug

Full disclosure:

[META]
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The SLA boards are player-moderated. The PM provides the in-game characters, but all other content is player run. The idea (as far as I know) is for the players to role-play, and not cause the game to explode pre-maturely.
[NOTE] I am NOT a PM.

That probably didn't need a spoiler tag. [SPEC] would have been more appropriate.

[SPEC][META]Let's not forget that there is a game going on here, too. The story is still unfolding. I think what we are ultimately working towards is the liberation of the Awlyn people from the antiquated Dragon Council. I foresee SEALs connecting with The Shadows of Man to first expose the government experiments being conducted on the Awlyn and then convince the DC of the folly of their continued laws of secrecy.

ACME it seems is putting a high emphasis on TINAG for this project. I like that. Our PMs have a compelling story to tell and everything is meshing so well. It seems that at the moment the focus is on character development and backstory but I feel things will pick up soon. Samhain is just around the corner! What we are seeing is players becoming staple characters in the story. This isn't a new concept but the methodology is very uncommon.[/META][/SPEC]

I really enjoyed this game up until the part that the school opened. I liked the videos and things and doing things for Diego and Surry. And cracking codes and things. And watching the actor's videos.

However, I am usually willing to do things for an ARG, however I have to feel like it makes a difference (like surry's ritual was awesome). I do not like doing things for arbitrary reasons, like to be apart of the student council and do school work etc. That, for me, isnt my thing. It doesnt make me feel like im changing or adding to the story. But, instead, interacting with the characters, sorta.

Does anyone else feel this way specifically? Or, does anyone have a possible explaination for why such a thing may be a turnoff? I just feel horrible because i -want- to do things for this game and for the school courses etc, but if feels more like a chore that doesnt help to forward the game at this point.

I will note, however, that I very much like what they are doing with player to character involvement. It's pretty neat, however, as it's text-based, and the separate organizations dont seem to be competing, it seems to be more of a label the players wanna give themselves, rather than something they wanna work for. (i.e. players saying 'I'm a SEAL!" rather than "I helped the SEALs do this and that, and that changed the gameplay and story in this way."

Again, I love this game and am lurking it constantly, waiting/hoping for things to change. I also love the PMs and think that they are doing a great job. It may just be that the current state of the game just isnt my thing. Keep up the good work PMs!!!

I think we have hit the backstory part of the game, learning about Awlyn species and such. I was a little put off by the school thing at first but I'm ok with it now that I know we are only expected to make a post now and then. It looked like a lot at first but it really hasn't been that bad for me. Except for Astronomy, which is the class I was most looking forward to, but I have not been able to catch one free moment at sunset to make a sketch. I am still going to try to do a video for this challenge (though I can't say I'm excited about the whole "I Am Me" thing) but this week has just been really busy for me.

I also think it's a little odd that we haven't heard from Mikey on the other side of the game. I mean the school thing is supposed to be like a side thing right? The real meat of the game is our interaction with Mikey and the whole Awlyn experimentation/missing kids thing. But I'm not complaining. This game is huge and I have a feeling that during and after these weeks of school we will still have plenty of interesting things to uncover. I'm sure there are many great things in store. I never thought I would say this again but... let's just make it through high school guys!

Woo! Real-life coursework meets ARG work! Fun Razz
Anyway, got this in an email from Dr DeGrance while getting info for a newspaper article:

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. Security has just informed me that there is a strange man lurking down the road from the campus and with the recent... I'll leave it at that.

So...creepy stalker person at the school. Glad I'm an online learner Very Happy

So we've heard almost nothing from anyone in forever. Is there something we are supposed to be doing that I have forgotten about? Or did the game just hit a standstill? I was wondering if I should send a PM to Prof Marikov since he's the most recently signed in teacher on the SLA forum. But I'm not sure what to say. Where did everyone go? lol

Edit: posted a little "where are you" to Mikey on the Google group and also sent a PM to Jan at SLA asking if classes were still going on at the campus and where all the teachers are, etc.

Been wondering that myself. I expected student council to keep me kind of busy but so far we've only got 2 posts from faculty in that thread.

Maybe we can nudge them by sending PMs. Smahaim is next week...so I would kind of expect something

I've gotten a couple messages from Jan and one from Diego. They both pretty much said they were holed up in their rooms, and didn't have any more info to give me than what DeGrance had posted in the forums. I couldn't come up with anything else to ask them about. Oh, they did say classes were happening, but that most of the teachers were just giving them study hall and weren't really teaching anything. That's about all I've got over here.

Sounds to me like a nudge/nod from the PM saying "yeah, things have slowed down, im sorry"

thats just my opinion/guess tho

I got my reply from Jan this morning, classes are on hold, etc. I'll be gone all day Saturday so I'll probably miss it, haha, but good to know things will be picking back up soon.

METAwise: one Jas0n had contacted me the other day regarding some OOG stuff, and then he kind of disappeared, so, I'd been thinking along those lines. I know I wouldn't want to actually try to run a game. Sheesh. /META

Would like to see it resurrected. I've been away for a while but I would come back for AAP.
