Hmm... Be Kind Rewind is out Friday, and from the GMD Studios blog , they had a hand in marketing it last month with indieWire , which seems to have a fair amount of overlap with GMD . I'm not sure such a big "if" would leave the entire studio out of contact, though.
Has anyone with more moxie/ less sleep deprivation than me tried calling them ?

So the huge deadline passes in silence? I expected at least a little something this morning, even if there was a trip up in plans and we missed the big shebang. Very strange.
Hope nothing bad has happened.

I keep thinking of things i want to say, but then I delete the posts. Then I think of things to say about WHY i feel like i shouldn't post, but then I stop short of posting about that.
Honestly, I wish I could list all the various thoughts and feelings I've had over the past two weeks, but it never feels like it would be appropriate or the right time.
Then I start to get all meta in my head
about the ARG umbrella term
but then I strike it all out.
So here's a post about nothing, because I don't want to make things worse.

I remember one ARG that kind of died because the PM was in the hospital
Well, there *is* a really nasty flu going around. Everyone in my house has had it and this is the first time in at least a week that I've been able to sit up at the computer long enough to catch up on what's happening.

Remember the PM chat when they told us the name Eldritch seemed to be doomed? Didn't he say that one of the team had a baby or problem pregnancy, another member's father was killed in the West Virginia shootings, and a few other things like that? Maybe the "luck" is holding firm.

Heh. I will tell you that I have heard no reports of death or serious illness from my sources. It doesn't seem to be that kind of issue this time.

Well I sincerely hope that things work out in the end... even with this apparent downtime... it'd be nice to see everything work out! I love this ARG too much to see bad things happen to it!

At this point, I have two words in mind:

Hey! You stole my post! (Except for the "two weeks" part).

As if we aren't dealing with enough confusion. Here come you two to give us more.

I'm getting worried now.
Perhaps the story can't advance until we solve the two interrelated jobs. But I can't see the PMs just leaving us on our own when we're having so much trouble. Unless there's something else we're missing.

People wondering what the lull is about should check here for updates:
http://www.argn.com/archive/000701breaking_news_slowdown_of_eldritch_errors.php
The lull is not due to a lack of problem-solving-prowess on our part, but due to factors behind the scenes. We are waiting on some kind of official word from GMD about what's going on.

In honor of another week's passage since I posted that above, I might have a few more things to say, but i'm still pulling my punches in public. Thank goodness for IRC and our ventry outpost. We didn't mean to hide it from players (like you, WolfHawk). I personally felt uncomfortable with publicizing it too widely, especially where outside search engines would find it, while others think it is important that the PMs read it and the outside world sees what they've done to us. I know I (anonymously) posted a few things that I still wish I had kept to myself, rather like screaming in a private closet all those things that one should never say to a friend's face.
I must say this is the most confusing and emotional month I've spent with any ARG that I can recall, and possibly with any online community in my life. I've lived thru plenty of misunderstandings and hurt feelings and betrayals, but none have dragged out for so long as this. All we want is acknowledgement that the game is on hold (or possibly cancelled). While of course we are disappointed that some semi-promised action never took place, we're more hurt by the loss of trust and respect.
It's said that one should always end a meeting or negotiation with a call to action, and offer constructive criticism and suggestions for how to go forward. We of course are requesting an official announcement of the game's status be posted, presumably to Schmeldritch. It would be nice to get an explanation (even excuses) with that, but a simple declaration will go a long way right now. Additionally, I offer my services to go Behind The Scenes now to help resolve the issue we have with an unsolved puzzle (the ambiguous key into MultiLevelMayhem).
I just wish there was a way to know if people in charge have read this.

Perhaps... if ARGN is trying to contact GMD, then you should give it to them? I imagine ARGN would have the best way of contacting the Eldritch Crew.
I don't know anymore. *shrug*
