That I don't dispute. But I seriously doubt that the PM put those emails in there. My suspicion is that it's someone close to the PM who decided to play a poor practical joke on him by adding those emails to the game mailing list.

(Think about it - it would explain how they mysteriously got on the list without the PM knowing.)

They were using a gmail account. Whenever you email someone in gmail, their address automatically goes into the address book. There were a lot of other superfulous email addresses in there other than the .gov's, so I assume they were using the account to send out other email before the game started. They forgot (or weren't aware) of the address adding feature and hit "send all" and never double checked the addresses. I really don't think this was malicious.

I still wouldn't count the possibility out.

 		Aaaand apparently one of my theories was correct.

Brief backgrounder: I originally had two theories as to how the USG email addresses wound up in the CC list

The first theory was that it was a poor practical joke by someone close to the PM.

Theory two, there was a Trojan horse (or some other kind of malware) on the PM's computer.

Now, I passed both theories were passed on to Taluria, who apparently knows the ex-PM of this game. Said PM did a virus scan - bingo, Trojan horse detected (and, hopefully, eradicated.)

Remember, kiddies - if you're going to PM a game, always make sure your computer is malware-free!

ETA: You know, the Trojan horse might also explain the cloned messages we got later on in the game. (I know I got two copies of the "Quick email" and "Something strange is happening" messages - did that happen to anyone else?)
