The last stegs were decoded kinda fast, so anyone who isn't sure how to guess passwords, here's what you do:
First off, steg means files are hidden in the pictures (the 2 pawns).
1. Download InfoStego
2. Right click on the pawn pic's and save to computer. Make sure you save them as bitmaps (bmp files). In the dropdown box you have to select bitmap instead of png. You can't just rename the file.
3. Install infostego, run the program.
4. Click the open folder on the left side of the program, and open up one of the pawn pics you want to de-steg.
5. Click the decode circle and guess a password.
6. If you get it right, a file will show up in the gray box.

It looks like we do have to choose who to side with between the three parties.
Michael, the man who does things by the book and follows the authorities orders to save his son?
Tom, the renegade vigilante willing to do whatever it takes to stop Sam Deercot?
Or Sam, the author of this story who wants to tell what Eric has done?

Pic 1: Robot from The Day the Earth Stood Still
Pic 5: Hadji from Johnny Quest
Hadji reminds me of Haji, wouldn't that be funny if each of these pics were one of us?

I decoded the picture of Captain Marvel!
The Ali Baba pic:
THe Rumpelstiltskin pic
On the robot pic I tried Klaatu Barada Nikto but it doesn't fit. I tried all kinds of incarnations of Sim Sim Salabim on the Hadji picture.
All of the Passwords so far have been catchphrases or secret words from their respective pictures. Ali Baba used Open Sesame to get in the cave, Captain Marvel says Shazam to transform, and the chcik had to remember Rumpelstiltskins name. I have no idea what to use for the bear and didn't even try on the forest picture. I'm trying to figure out what the lightening guy is from.

InfoStego didn't install for me for some reason.
Maybe try Gort Klaatu Barada Nikto for the robot.

I too do have problems with InfoStego... well, whatever.
It seems that the images contain a dialogue between.. you guessed it: Eric and Sue. This dialogue is cut into pieces and forces us to get all the codewords:
1. Robot (Gort) from "The day the Earth stood Still":
-Aside from the main characters (and aside using Gort himself as a possible password) one could go and deal with the director or the production crew - while unlikely, it is the last resort to rely on.
2. Seems like a fan image of a comic character, probably from the so-called Golden Age...
3. A teddy bear. Smooth, huggable and a friend of children. Possible passwords: Russ, Steiff
4. Ali Baba. Password already found.
5. Name unknown. Possibly a connection to Aladdin.
6. Captain Marvel. Password already found.
7. Illustration from Rumpelstiltskin. Password already found.
8. Computer image of a forest. Might be from an Apple ][, a Commodore 64 or any other early home computers game.
I hope I got it all right.

Wikipedia says "Xyzzy" is a magic word that teleports the player between two locations for that game.
So try xyzzy... http://www.zshare.net/audio/8706183177d929/
btw: Nacho awesome job figuring out which game that was.
