Too late as in storyline-wise, I don't think so. I suppose you'd just jump in.
I'm still slightly new at this, so I'm only watching this one.
ATM, none of the contacts that I know of are online.

Just tell them [Dock, Deer, Cat, Mouse] That you're an associate of Leyton Stone (Put my AIM name in there too DebonaiRx08) And a few others (romeo etc) And just initate conversation.

With the Dickory's I'd be very careful what you say to be honest... I wouldn't mention mouse and the AIXO unless of course you plan on giving them Mouse's location @ some stage as a double agent etc?

Also do you have AIM Fencer?

Don't worry Leyton I'm still on board. Although it seems we're at a standstill until we crack that binary code. I've not seen any of them online today.

I've tried almost everything w/ that code... Something tells me it was just leading to The Rangers site because "rangerslovesyou" is at the bottom.

But it could be something more... I asked mouse about it and he doesn't seem to know.

Yea it does give you the Rangers' site. But that code has to have some sort of message. I mean it was placed on HDInc. by the Rangers. Unless it's a Red Herring, But I doubt it. And what about the Latin in the source?

Well, whatever it is, it's gone now.

We seem to have gotten hacked...

Everything is back.

As for the Latin, I believe I saw it and dismissed it. The first couple of words were Lorem Ipsum, a common passage of Latin used to test how text looks in a layout. It wouldn't surprise me if FreeWebs filled their original webpages with it, or samples of it, in order to for the customer to view how text looks against the layout/background.

Ran it through a translator and got this:

Quote:
Lorem itself pain he is amet consectetuer to come up to elit. Up to the time when bow orci , to lay porttitor viverra and consectetuer but , worthless. Now in fact. Mauris annoyance wise but fear. Each one mauris ligula , annoyance but , lamentation upon euismod a , region. Nulla eleifend. Mauris rutrum. Vestibulum concern soft spotless. Sickness eleifend a quiver is. As yet when equity. Phasellus vestibulum , is not a race price augue equity lacinia now pharetrasagittis nibh lucky eget mi. Now but massa but mi laoreet volutpat. Pellentesque anyone pain. Vestibulum when diam a fleet of a hundred ships is rutrum ullamcorper. Eneus eleifend tincclassunt augue

Might just be random words that luckily got translated but "a fleet of a hundred ships" really sticks out.

Thanks for the suggestions Smile

The fleet of a thousand ships...sounds a little like Helen of Troy or something.
And yes-- I have AIM, my screen name is MultiColoredKiwi.

I don't know, maybe it is something, but I'm still more apt to believe that it's a PM mistake, forgetting to remove stock text, than a clue.

Lorem Ipsum is actually from Cicero's "De finibus bonorum et malorum (On the Ends of Goods and Evils", or alternatively "[About] The Purposes of Good and Evil". The 1914 translation...

Quote:
"Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?"

The cause of the scrambled, awkward translation you came up with from the text on HDInc. lies in the fact that Lorem Ipsum itself is really just bits and pieces of Latin styled together in order to look nice. Sometimes full words were used, other times half words, and other times completely skipped.

More information can be found at everyone's favorite online resource.

Nice. I always wondered where that came from.
I'm still keeping the Helen clue in my back pocket, though.

I contacted Deer and Mouse, saying that I was a friend of Leyton's and romeo's, and I also contacted Edward Dickory, saying:
Quote:
Good afternoon, sir-- I've heard about you and your fabulous inventions, and was wondering if you can ship people orders? I really would like to purchase one of your chocolate toothbrushes for my daughter, whose birthday is coming up.

Hopefully he'll assume I'm a doting father/mother....too bad I can't change my screenname, I probably should have made it something more adult-sounding xD Hopefully he'll overlook that.
