Calling the contact number provides an automated response stating that the new website (http://www.flyoceanicair.com/) will be up and running on December 31st.

Well, this is quite interesting. Do you think that this may be the start of a new Lost ARG/Experience, or just some viral advertising for the new season which starts in 34 days? I'm personally very excited about what the new content could be on the Oceanic website. Smile

EDIT: Lostpedia has finally corrected their infomation, so i did the same here.

DarkUFO (www.darkufo.co.uk) has audio of the message you get when calling the phone number (818-460-5520) here:
http://www.darkufo.co.uk/lost_cavanagh.mp4

Also, the message says that the OceanicAir website is actually http://www.flyoceanicair.com. It isn't up yet, but most likely will be on December 31, as the message suggests.

The website posted above (www.oceanicairlines.com) is actually a fan site that has been around, with the code, for about a year. It isn't referenced in the message at all and so probably isn't related, but we'll see.

thank you for finding an official ABC press release! all day i've been seeing random bloggers say they got a mysterious email (and not posting the headers for us to dissect), and i've been suspicious. I felt that a real ABC site would (a) not be registered via GoDaddy, (b) have a placeholder page rather than a parked domain, (c) and be on ABC-owned servers instead of bargain hosting. I was sooo afraid that this was an ambitious fansite launching via some grassroots trailhead, ballsy enough to email the TV Guide and other high-visibility bloggers. I'm still puzzled by (a-c) above, but Monday should be interesting when the site goes live.

btw, i did call the phone number myself, and left a message with my own email address -- haven't seen any incoming mail from it yet. (I couldn't get the audio recording to play from the DarkUFO site)

so, to clarify:
www.flyoceanicair.com is mentioned only on the phone message indicated by the official press release;
www.oceanic-air.com is still the original ABC extended reality site;
www.oceanicairlines.com is a fansite mentioned on a fan blog which reported the press release -- it is NOT in the phone message.

/me flashes back to the days before TLE and the fan webmaze game.

Here is a transcript of the phone message for people who can't get the audio to work and aren't able to/don't want to call the number.

thats what i was asking all of you. This is either a new LOST Arg/Experience or a viral advertising campaign for the new season of LOST.

Well, whatever it is, should be very interesting. I'm definitely watching this one.

By the way, if you go to http://www.flyoceanicair.com they now they have a little video advert for their "company." Doesn't seem to have anything revealing, but interesting nonetheless.

Also, an interesting side note, the nine market cities for Oceanic, as mentioned in their press release shown in the first post, are the hometowns of the main characters.

Edit: Those of you who played The Lost Experience probably remember Speaker from www.insidetheexperience.com. Well, it seems like he's posting again, in the comments of his lastest blog post from back in September.

I may have something to say to the whole old ITE gang SOON!

Thanks!

very glad to see ABC put up a holding page. btw, the flyoceanicair.com site is no longer on the same server where it was temporarily parked; it's now on a Media Temple server, which is at least more in keeping with a professional site.

The advert for oceanic

Just looked at the video there and it 'could' have some interesting connotations. (totally don't add anything but hey)

There's three phases to the video; sydney, london and tropical paradise.
In both sydney and london the background sky in moody and dangerous (ie for london, red sky in the morning - shepherds warning) then on the 3rd paradise phase it states plainly "Your final destination" which as everyone knows is the lovely island of lost.

Well, that is quite interesting! Great find, EisforEmerald!! If Speaker is talking about a new TLE....well, this sounds like a great development.

"evilpuppetmasters" is a blog for everything related to JJ Abrams. It doesn't look like there's anything there at the moment...

Now I see the link at the bottom of the flyoceanicair page, to download the press release as a PDF. The file properties (in Adobe Reader) tell me the author was "Kelly" and it was originally made as "Microsoft Word - Oceanic Outdoor.doc"

p.s. I don't get any video on the site, just the flash header and a background image.
