Thanks Amadeus; I didn't notice that your post was any more outworldy than usual Wink , so I think you emerged safely from your encounter with the second mirror.

I also finally got to do the St Pancras thing and I'm pleased to tell you that the number still works. It's also very eerie and very enjoyable. Very Happy

I've got all my pics from the meeting with Jacques (and goodies afterwards) and from the Post WTS Drinks up on the 'We Tell Stories Survivors' facebook group now if anyone want to have a look and tag as well.

EDIT: Thanks to Amadeus for the cracking work on the tagging! I've also now tagged with everyone's handle's for those who didn't have the pleasure of meeting us in real life Smile

I'm sure there were other paps too though - where are the other photos people?

I just got this email in my inbox

Quote:
Hi Daisy -

Thank you for emailing me; I'm so grateful for all your help and support. I'm glad to say also that for the past couple of weeks I've just been enjoying the summer, and the quiet life of a bookshop.

Now, you have been nominated by several of the other blog readers to receive a little present from me. Could you let me have your home address, and I'll try to send a little something out to you?

All the very best, and thanks again
- Alice

Thank you everyone who nominated me!!!!!!!

Who else has had this shiny email? I hope we all get something...

Naomi Alderman's endgame blog

OOG - though seems like the game has truly ended!

In case you haven't seen it, Naomi Alderman has written about the WTS 7th story here.....

http://thepenguinblog.typepad.com/the_penguin_blog/2008/05/special-guest-p.html

Let's hope she doesn't take too long getting involved in writing something similar.

Nice Very Happy I too hope to see more from her.

On a slightly unrelated note... Has Alice's mysterious gift arrived yet?

Mystery gift

No, it hasn't!

Also, me and batgirl have agreed that we'll only post what it is here when both have arrived.

I hope it hasn't been lost in the post. It's terrible around here. Rolling Eyes

eek! my post is particularly unreliable as well as we're a brand new building and the postman seems to like to pick and choose what and when to deliver :/

Can't remember ever feeling so eager for the postman every day though...

EDIT: Finally just read the penguin blog entry and laughed at the end link pointing to this thread while our thread links to that blog entry Laughing

I'm glad she mentioned the Jacques meet up and that it was perhaps her favourite part of the story, as I've already said that I think that was my favourite part. Very interesting to read from Naomi's point of view how important our discussions were in the whole process of the story though. Considering she told us at the post-WTS drinks that there were about 100 people on the final live journal finale then it's a shame for their sake if they didn't know about the unfiction forum to be able to participate as fully as possible - I'm sure there were many lurkers though.

*sigh* waiting for the next Six to Start project now then...

Letterbox of confusion

I've emailed Ms Klein:

Quote:
Dear Alice

I was absolutely thrilled when you said that you were going to send me a small gift, as a token of your gratitude for my help during your recent time of need. For the first couple of weeks after your message, I waited with baited breath for the arrival of the post, rushing home from school every day (I'm a teacher not a pupil, by the way) to see what you had sent me. But sadly, my daily apprehension and excitement has always been greeted with disappointment, since there has been nothing but the usual clutter of junk mail and bills.

Could it be a signed edition of your latest book, I wondered, or perhaps a leather bound edition of Alice In Wonderland? An invitation to a tea party? A £5 book token?

Then I got to fretting about the vagaries of the British Postal System and remembered what happened to that missing fifteen squid that my mum sent her grandson (oh, that naughty postman, what a bad, bad man!). So I'm just writing to check whether you have already sent me something, because if so, it may be in a pile of 10,000 other undelivered letters in some cracked-up postie's backroom, or maybe it has been delivered to the wrong Cabbage, and they opened it and scratched their head in wonder and surprise...

Anyway, I hope that you are keeping well and that you can deliver a first class explanation through the letterbox of my confusion.

Regards
Cabbage x

I'll let y'all know if I get a reply.

Cabbage and Batgirl

Sorry for slow delivery - you can blame holidays, but mainly blame general incompetence. Your gifts went in the post today and hopefully will be thudding onto your doormats very soon.

While I am here I just wanted to say how grateful I am for all your contributions to the We Tell Stories project. It has truly been a pleasure and an inspiration lurking.

Yes, thanks Jeremy, I can't wait (again) :>)

EDIT:

It's arrived, a big thank you again to Jeremy and everyone at Penguin and Six To Start for an excellent ride and for the present as well.

Will let everyone know what it is when I have heard from batgirl.
