Cabbage, well spotted! I admit I didn't see that.
I also noticed that Daniel Defoe wrote some stuff about mirrors, and that he was one of the authors mentioned by spinankle. I may investigate further....

Sorry ambien, i honestly hadn't seen your post about Dee Crying or Very sad

Don't worry t, it's easy to miss a post several pages back Smile

I did mention Dr Dee in an email to Alice last week but she didn't reply. That does't mean he's not our Dr though.

Has anyone heard from Alice today? Think she's a bit hungover?

You will have to replace the asterisks with "aro" to see the site as the forum doesn't want to allow the word!

Rock On

Some good pictures of some of the cards:

The Mad Hatter is portrayed as the fool. Anyone find images of the full deck?

claribella pussywillow

hi everybody!
I'm totally new to this forum and to ARGs, so forgive me if I say something stupid.... but I'm enjoying this so much! Wink
So, I was wondering:
- why so many pictures of the cat on slice's parents' flickr? this CAN'T be meaningless....
- what a strange name for a cat!
so I found (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pussy_Willow) that pussywillow is connected to east europe (poland, russia... connected to rituals on easter and easter monday); moreover "pussywillow" song by jethro tull
Quote:
depicted a young woman who lived in a fantasy world too often shattered by the typewriter sounds of her dead-end job.

sounds familiar!

EDIT: read the song's lyric, I think they're interesting:
Quote:
In her fairy-tale world she's a lost soul singing
in a sad voice nobody hears.
She waits in her castle of make-believing
for her white knight to appear.
[...]
She longs for the East and a pale dress flowing
an apartment in old Mayfair.
Or to fish the Spey, spinning the first run of Spring
or to die for a cause somewhere.

maybe Mayfair and the Spey could be hints?

but sadly.... nothing interesting about claribella.

Wikis

In reference to wikis (thanks blag, that's a great list), I'm also in the process of setting up a despoiler wiki (http://wetellstories.despoiler.org/). This followed a conversation on the unfiction IRC channel the other day about barriers to entry and introducing new people to the concepts.

I think We Tell Stories is a lovely gateway to the world, given the timeline and fixed time period. The final intention of the wiki is to act as a case study, with a walkthrough, description of the clues and how they were solved that can act as a intro resource for the future - plus pointing out other places where similar ideas were used, to give people ideas.

But as it's a wiki, it's still ready for you to add things as required to keep a track of stuff.

Tarot Cards & MJs Journal Entries

Has anyone tried to connect the t@rot cards with the journal entries from MJ? I noticed all the t@rot cards are numbered, perhaps it would correspond with the dates of the entries or the subject of the cards could correspond to the actual journal entry (June 19th "Moon-song").

Sorry for the delay, here is the Wonderland card list that I have so far! Smile
NOTE: I am also highlighting the cards that represent celestial bodies, ref my earlier post re the mirror.
0 Fool = Mad Hatter ( also number 22 as Major arcana is a circle of life)
I Magician = Lewis Caroll
II High Priestess = Alice = moon
III Empress = The sheep in the boat = venus
IV Emperor = Cheshire Cat
V Hierophant = Catterpiller ( hookah & all!)
VIThe lovers = Tweedledum & Tweedledee
VII Chariot = Alice on the train
VIII Strength = Lion & Unicorn
VIIII Hermit = Dormouse asleep in teapot
X Wheel of Fortune = The Dodo et al = Jupiter
XI Justice = ?
XII The Hanged man = ?
XIII Death = Queen of Hearts (lol "Off with her head!")
XIV Temperance = March Hare
XV The Devil = Jaberwock
XVI The Tower = Bill falling from Chimney = Mars
XVII The Star = ?
XVIII The Moon = Walrus & Carpenter
XIX The Sun = Humpty on the wall = Sun
XX Judgement = White Rabbit as herald of court
XXI The World = Alice in the green fields that look like chess board = saturn ( not seen but found description)

I hope this is actually useful, not just one of those little jaunts you go off on from time to time!

Claribella Pussywillow

I have also been intrigued by the number of cat photos chiarac.
Has anyone tried looking at the photo details that are available on the right hand side of the photos if you click to view?
It just looks like general camera stats, but I have been starting to suspect there's more to them. Soooo many zeros, so few actual numbers. Am too tired now, will have another look tomorrow.

The evil Maltravers

The "evil Maltravers" could be a contender for the Devil card.

Harrison - Old Harry is a nickname for the devil

Mal - evil

Travers - to cross

Cat Photos

I'm still not convinced that this is more than an in-joke about cat photos on the web..but the EXIF data is interesting. I know in general it's editable, but the fields you are talking about look proprietary to Canon, so maybe not. The vast number of zeros looks normal after looking at a few other photos done with the same type of camera

I thought it might possibly be a nod to Perplexorum's birthday mini ARG which centred around Dinah who was Alice's cat.
