Thank you Amadeus, I appreciate it. I will get more posted on that blog tomorrow. Good luck with the interview!

I too cannot see the Alice link with DJ Tanic, It's just what I get from the letters.

On another note, a couple of the people in chat had interesting nicknames ie A Book is a Mirror and Spy in the house of love....

Try this - http://wetellstories.co.uk/stories/week4/chat/

It opens up the chat page as a normal browser page, not as a javascript driven popup

Spot on. Thanks.

Great that you can make it!! Can you meet at Smith's of Smithville too?

I'm definitely going to try and make it to the meetup with Jacques on Thursday. Anyone want to meetup earlier? I'm still trying to find a nice coffee place around Farringdon. Anyone know of one?

It's not really a coffee shop type of area but I've been told Smith's of Smithville is nice for meeting up and relaxing in (though I haven't been there myself as I don't go out in Clerkenwell) and I've been told you can't miss it as well:

I can be there for about 5pm as I work in the city and finish work at 4:30pm... Who else is coming, can they confirm they're meeting in the same place at the same time? I hope we'll know who we all are... we should wear pink carnations Razz

Aren't tarts the order of the day?

The Queen of Hearts
She made some Tarts
All on a Summers day
The Knave of Hearts
He stole those Tarts
And took them quite away

The King of Hearts
Call'd for those Tarts
And beat the Knave full sore
The Knave of Hearts
Brought back those Tarts
And vow'd he'd steal no more

Going back to some earlier stuff ...

Since I can't attend the live event (boo), I spent some time going through the old stories, wondering if we'd missed anything ...

1) The first character Rick Blackwell meets in "The 21 Steps" is named Jack Kalba. Plus Jacques in "Alice" and Jacomo in "Slice" ... are we missing a Jack-type figure in "Fairy Tales?" I imagine all the Jacks = the White Rabbit = the first character Alice meets in Wonderland.

2) I went back and read the email from Daisy Hill, and it sounds a whole lot like the "journal of voyages in a fantastic land" from MythObs 139-142. Both narrators ask for "safe passage" and are denied by the mysterious folks they meet. (Is the Eastern European woman in the Daisy Hill email supposed to be death? She's less than skin and bone; she smells of damp, earthy places. Fig 13. in MythObs, the Charles Schwabe image of Death, is a woman ...)
