I just got a reply from Alice too. I emailed her asking "What is the name of the Eastern Earopean-looking girl?" (just on the off-chance), and I got this reply:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Hello,

I think you might have the wrong address, this is a bookshop - if you are looking for information about a book with an Eastern European girl in it you'll have to be a bit more specific.

Regards,

Alice Klein
Marsh-Ayre Books

It made me feel a bit silly for asking! But I've replied letting Alice know that
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
there appear to be hidden messages in the We Tell Stories site addressed to her, and asking her if she knows anything about them

Now I'll just have to wait and see if she replies!

Blog comments and trackbacks
lead to other blogs

I've been following trackbacks from the various articles mentioned here. I found the one for Jack Mottram's submit response blog. Is the story you get from the email supposed to be about what happened to him at the station?

Also found a comment from a Dr. James Smythe on the Penguin Blog and followed it to his blog. He mentions a novel he wrote and gives an email address for anyone who might be interested. I sent him an email. Waiting for reply. THat blog has several posts and I think they are clues but I haven't figured any out yet. The picture there is a mystery. He mentions that he doesn't like the layout and will be changing or erasing everything...

Alice's blog mentioned deleting messages too.

Here is the copy of the email back from him and my original questions

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hi there,

I'm on holiday this weekend, but will be back on Monday, so will properly reply then. In the meantime, what's this alice thing you spoke about?

Finally found this game being covered somewhere other than the wlp forum Smile

I was hoping Alice's latest blog update was going to be that she had explored the store room, but alas, it seems we have to wait for the excitement that one will be bringing...

Alice is reminding me of Violet already though, detmined to know everything for herself whatever she gets told Smile

Btw, this was my email back from Alice; I asked where exactly the shop is (no answer to that question) and that I'm also curious about what is in the store room...

Quote:
Hello Daisy,

I'm biding my time to get Jacques out the way and have a good poke around in that mysterious room! I'm sure I'm setting myself up for a disappointment, it's just a store room after all, but curiosity has taken a very firm hold.
Sorry to be brief, but I've got to get back to the shopfloor - we're rushed off our feet here today, seems all people aim to do over the Easter holiday is read!

All the best,

Alice

Me too batgirl! And I'm already obsessively checking the blog for updates.

Here's my reply from Alice:
Quote:
I've had a few emails about these "messages" in the Penguin stories site. The only thing I can think is that my name was left in there because I was supposed to contribute to the project. It must be some kind of technical glitch: the project's frightfully complicated I think, far too much for me to understand the details, and I suppose these things must happen. Or perhaps they mean another Alice? It's a very common name, after all.

Thank you for letting me know, though. I'm sorry not to have been of more help. Do feel free to email again if anything else turns up.

Best,
Alice Klein,
Marsh-Ayre Books

Any ideas on the latest treacle and ink post? I'm wondering if it's Mr Marsh-Ayre himself who's been leaving the messages for Alice. He's been engaged on a project that's been "consuming a great deal of time and energy", but maybe this has somehow gone wrong and he needs Alice's help... pure speculation i know.

Nara: I've got a feeling Dr Smyth's and Jack Mottram's blogs are both out of game - can't be certain of course, and keep your ideas coming!

I've been wondering what on earth he and the antiques shop woman were doing in the store room which wasn't an affair from which they would emerge dishevelled and glassy eyed...!

Perhaps they'd just returned from a trip down the rabbit hole?

Jack Mottram

I created a twitter account to follow Jack Mottram...I hope this wouldn't be considered stalking....this is what his last post said:

Am I right in seeing that the next game, week two, starts today/tomorrow?

Second story by Toby Litt is up, this time it uses blogs and Twitter to create a story over the next 4 days. So far not seeing anything related to Alice.

http://wetellstories.co.uk/stories/week2/

Edit: Although I'm wondering if a haunted house and pictures statues are supposed to remind me of Blink (Doctor Who story)?

several ideas...

Lisa/ Slicequeen (Queen could be an Alice ref?) points at the closed Myspace blog, but then says her parents only found 5% of her stuff, so surely we need to find other sites?

Is her bookshelf relevant? (why show it otherwise?)

There's a woman in the living room photo - Is that Lynn?

In Ray & Lynn's blog it says "parents of [broken link]" the link is for http://www.focusas.com/ - however this looks like an OOG site.

I've been puzzling over the blue book, the one that starts 'Mythological...' as it seems out of place. But even on the bigger picture on Flickr I can't see the title.

And the link does indicate that the parents think she is 'troubled' hence the support group.

live journal comments

Who here is posting on the Live journal? Pariesienne 13 was talking about having talked to her on second life. But Its hard to tell if someone is playing or if they are clues. Maybe that is somewhere to look for her?
